I'll need more than that. I need calamity at least, catastrophe preferred.
Fuckin' gettin' West is just ass pounding. He's hungry and will do anything to get it.
I've had my day in the sun. Now, it's your turn. Enjoy every single solitary second of it. Commit it to memory. I wished I'd a kept a journal, just a few lines every day.
I still can't believe West. The rumor blew my mind. The reality is just a new thing.

Like a good team consisting of a 5 time NBA champion, a two time regular season MVP winner, an all-round PF and the league's best center?

Don't worry, you'll see veterans beating down the door in SA begging for minimum contracts in the next a few days. There're still more than a dozen serviceable veterans who're desperate for rings, and there's no better option than San Antonio for them niggas tbh.

What's your honest to goodness (or shiittiness) take on this Dale? Do you think the Spurs will struggle with new blood or will they roll through the league? Will the Thunder trounce them? Will the Warriors have their number? Is Dallas a dark horse? When stewing prunes, is 5 too many or 4 not enough?

Sign Nazr Mohammed and Drew Gooden back, imho. Spurs need depth and those niggas used to play in San Antonio. Nazr was the starting C for Spurs in 2005 playoffs and was an integral part of the team that won the NBA championship that year. Gooden was a solid rotational player last season for Washington and he's still relatively young (only 33). They're perhaps past their primes now but they're still serviceable role players imho, at least they can bring Spurs squad some depth which is much needed with the departures of Baynes and Splitter.

This might be one of our best rosters of all time with the addition of LA and West. We got two major FA signings this off season, let us be a little happy. :lol
Here's hoping we don't have a Lakers 2012 like season.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CJQvaMXW8AAaLLv.jpg
The difference between that is that they're aren't any impulse moves made here. This wasn't a desperation signing by the Spurs like the Lakers transaction was. These players came to the Spurs from attraction to success. One of them for less money.
None of these guys are clowns or majorly past their primes. These are low key NBA guys who know their games and themselves.

It's funny to me. I've been on this board since 04 and the spurs were never about "names" or sexy free agents. It was about the system or fit. We'll that changed when TP, manu and Jim all got old. Nothing about this team is special. It's been done before and to death.

They're ahead of the entire league in the championship hunt. They've got one of the 3 best coaches of all time and a core of guys who've done it "to death". They just added another great player, and they've got that depth back also.

I think Duncan is still the beating heart of the Spurs. If he goes down, Aldridge would have to carry too much load on the frontcourt and shrink in the playoffs as we've seen time and time again.
Popovich is the brain, Leonard and Aldridge are the legs and arms. The heart, Tim Duncan, is what keeps that body going.

Agree, the Big Fundamental is like a spiritual symbol to this team no matter how much personally he does on court. Spurs are always Spurs as long as Tim Duncan plays, regardless of his age and sexual orientation tbh. The acquisition of LMA would ease the spasm of AD (after duncan) life, but I don't think LMA or anyone else is good enough to be a replacement of Duncan, who is a player of a generation.

Thought about Nazr as well, but a somewhat younger 6-foul-guy would look better next to all those old frontcourt guys ;)
All we need is:
1) one (and only one!) big body to be physical with D12, Zach and DJ
...think Baynes :(
--> Bonner has done it in the past and is a matchup nightmare for those guys on the other end. He is not Baynes or Splitter but we will counter those teams (especially MEM) rather than trying to match up with them anyway. West/Diaw/Aldridge/Tim are perfect to do just that.
2) one PG capable of handleing stuff for the (hopefully) few games either TP or Manu can't play
...think CoJo :(
--> I don't think our offense will need a real PG, so Mills might be enough with a WNBA...uhm....NBDL guy doing the trick in case of emergency (not the playoffs anyway)
3) one knockdownshooter
...think Beli :(
--> not that hard to find a guy that can hit the three...even though it won't be on the level of Belinelli (beeing kind of able to create for himself)
4) Kyle or Livio giving us something
...think Kyle or Livio :)
