Should have traded Parker for Payton, circa 2001.

Prior to the floodgates, the last premium Free Agent the Spurs signed after a good season was Terry Cummings- GSG

I wanted to wait until things were official on July 9.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that San Antonio would become a desired destination of choice for coveted free agents during an offseason.

There are a few things that make the signings of L. Aldridge and D. West so special to me:
- Leonard and Green are re-upped, maintaining the young perimeter
- Duncan and Ginobili accepted meager salaries in a time where Carmelo and Kobe have selfishly hamstrung their franchises
- Duncan giving the Admiral "pass the torch" speech to LA
- That these free agents came here to WIN first and foremost -- not necessarily for big money, market or fame

I almost can't believe that this is real life.

P.S.
To my dear friend -- the original SpursFan -- please consider tweaking your handle to me LaMarcus Bryant. Godspeed.

The offseason acquisitions are really quite astonishing, particularly D. West coming here for pennies.

I was expecting the Spurs to threaten for the title after the Clippers loss next season without adding LA.

I still can't believe this is the world we live in now.
