That's where they operate, where they earn their keep; they cede the rest of the court to the guards, but the precious space inside the key belongs to them. So when little men venture into their turf, the giants usually un-invite them by putting them on the floor. Well, this one was for little guys everywhere. Kevin Johnson-all 6-1 of him-was not going to be denied, especially on this day. After beating Kenny Smith on the left baseline, it was all a Dream for KJ. Hakeem Olajuwon stood in front of the basket waiting to serve up one of his nightly block specials. Johnson didn't knock on the big-man door for entry, he kicked it wide open for passage with this monstrous one-handed number over one of the best centers to ever play.

It's made great because KJ rarely ever dunked and it was Game 7 of the playoffs. Suns lossed, however :(

I agree and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Kobe cry, but saying that he's playing for fun is far from the truth. Exactly like you said he gets paid millions of dollars to WIN and he's a natural competitor so seeing him cry because he had just gotten knocked off his throne by the Spurs is not anywhere near unusual

no, I wasn't being sarcastic. I never enjoy seeing the other team suffer defeat. There is no drama about that. I enjoy winning as much as anyone, but you can't tell me Kobe was enjoying losing. I always feel bad for the defeated.

I tried a few tricks from the V-bulletin board I moderate at, but nothin' was working.

Great pic.

Believe it or not, I once had a photo of Ainge guarding Parish. Ainge was with Phoenix and I believe Parish with Charlotte, though it could have been Boston.

Anyways, they were matchup on a pic-n-roll switch off and Ainge was crouched low, looking up, with one hand straight in the air, kind of waving as to distract from his other hand cupping Parish sack below.

I can't believe I lost it. Musta been when my computer crashed last year.

That's bullshit. The only requirement of being a "real" Spursfan, is to support your team. It doesn't mean you have to enjoy the suffering of your opponents, just take pride in your team's victory.

So based on what you say, you felt bad for George Karl after the Spurs beat Denver? I hope not, I was glad Manu showed him up. And what about the ass whooping Tim did in the Seattle series? I was glad to see Ray Allen sucking it up and moving on after his fans cheered when Tim went down! It was a pleasure to see that Sonics fan all cried out!

So based on what you say, you felt bad for George Karl after the Spurs beat Denver? I hope not, I was glad Manu showed him up. And what about the ass whooping Tim did in the Seattle series? I was glad to see Ray Allen sucking it up and moving on after his fans cheered when Tim went down! It was a pleasure to see that Sonics fan all cried out!

I'm not the type of guy who cheers an injury to someone, but I'll cheer when Kobe is upset about not getting another ring! And it all depends on the team too, just to clarify. Back in the 90s when the Rockets were rolling....what I would give to see the Spurs make Hakeem cry! :depressed

I'm saying there isn't a way to be a "real" Spursfan besides supporting the team. You don't HAVE to hate or think of anyone as the enemy in order to be a "real" fan. Some fans are more vicious than others and that's fine, but it doesn't make you any more "real" than anyone else in the Spursfandom.
