Will he fall in line and accept his Prigioni role or will he continue his dribble dribble dribble?

OP is right, imo.

No reason to dribble dribble when you have LMA on your team.

While I don't share the hate of the OP I agree w the premise. Parker is a giant question mark and really critical to SAs success - esp with no Cory & Manu a year older. I think he bounces back, but the concern is valid.

Luckily Patty will be healthy from the get go, tbh... now that he's been with the team for a while, hopefully Pop trusts him a little bit more...

I agree. If he has an All Star year, what do you think the team's ceiling is as far as regular season wins?

cd98
07-07-2015, 01:52 PM
Can't imagine he'll be overweight given that he will be playing basketball all summer. My concern would be more about him getting injured or fatigue. That said, our playoff run last season was pretty short.

He won't. He's not Tim Duncan. He will play for France in September in Europe.

I agree. If he has an All Star year, what do you think the team's ceiling is as far as regular season wins?

If TP is at legit All-Star level? Spurs could win 65+. However, I think SA can win 55+ & even reach a WCF with TP being not much better than last year. The ceiling is that. TP doesn't have to be an all star, he just can't be a net negative. TP at All Star level means SA should be considered a favorite to win it all. I doubt SA wins 65+ even w TP at AS level bc I don't see them pushing that hard.

But if TP is an All-Star again I don't see a better team in the league. If he's just better than last year, team can still win it all. If he's the same or worse, even w the talent it would take lucky match ups to even make the WCF

If he accepts his role as a ball-handler that just runs the offense and takes open jump shots, he should be fine IMO..

He just has to be an average, maybe slightly above average player..the list of speed-reliant PGs in their 30s is ugly, fortunately he plays for the best and one of the most intelligent organizations of all-time..

Back to OP's topic after this derailment attempt by the FB...

Yeah, the only reason I can see this not working out is if Porky still demands to be the focal point of the offense. He played very well during the Spurs' run to close the regular season before reverting back to the dribble dribble show against the Clippers. His job is pretty much super easy this upcoming season where he gets to feast (heh) off the double teams that Aldridge/Duncan/Kawhi will create....

Great Job Spurs front office. Now that we have no more rumors and there is a lull in signings, some have to revert to discuss Parker's weight, desire to score, decline, and extramarrital affairs.

This is a good basketball talk.

As DPG pointed out, it's a real issue....Hopefully parker doesn't sabotage the team by his unwilingness to play a role. 6 FGA sounds good enough for him..Taking open jump shots should be his role.
