Just saw a post on FB from David Aldridge saying Ray Allen may sign for the min. Went to his twitter and wasn't there....Removed? Fake?

Sharp shooting veteran who moves great without the ball - I'll take him.

As a Sonics fan, it would be an honor to grant the Spurs permission to rent my precious Ray Ray.

We lack depth at the wing, particularly with the departure of Bellinelli. Signing Allen for the minimum as his replacement would be a tremendous coup.

Can't be worse than Belinelli on defense

I reckon Mr. Shuttlesworth owes us one, and seemingly would be a gleaming fit for the wing shooter depth.

total OCD competitor too, professional, with championship pedigree and rep for making big shots.

it worked with horry

And he probably would play for the min, just to go for one more glorious ride on the range

It's been a bombshell off-season, and signing Ray Allen would be a continuation at the bench level.

He hasn't forgotten how to shoot, nor lost the ability. For the amount of minutes he'd be asked to play? I'd love to see him on the roster, no matter how much I dislike the guy.

Let's face it, a part of all of us will hate Ray Allen 'til the day we die.. But, even at almost 40, you'd be fooling yourselves if you don't think he'd be a great pickup as an 11th or 12th man on the bench to play sparingly.... Lights out shooter, incredible work ethic, excellent at spacing the offense, a championship pedigree, etc. If the Spurs can convince him to come out of retirement, that'd be huge.

BatManu20

With that said, it's highly unlikely it happens.

Yeah, if you think about it, he could cancel out taking a title from us by giving one in return.

why do you hate ray allen when it was Popovich doing all he could to lose the game?

i don't care about the big 3 pointer. Allen is clutch and he got out of the sinking ship in Boston like he's got a head on his shoulders. It's clear, the Spurs hate youth. There isn't much better bargain old talent than Allen. Maybe Steve Nash could survive a season of Pops minute management, while they're at it.

no. you don't ask players who beat you to join you. The problem with 99% of ST who never played competitive anything.

Sure, I'll take him. It'll help lessen the sting of 2013 if he helps us win a title.

You try to assemble the best team possible, period. I'm a Yankees fan. It felt damn good to see Red Sox legend Wade Boggs riding around on a horse as a champion in 1996 and Clemens helping us win two more.

Lol Robert Horry routinely reamed the Spurs for almost a decade on two different championship teams and by the end of his second full season in silver and black he was a fan favorite. Next
