The Texas A&M University, Maroon and White, is proud of their traditions. Aggie Hoopsfan can attest to that, as can my Aggie wife. As a Husker alum, I will never get it (so to speak).

The first "MAROON OUT" was held at Kyle Field many years ago when MY ALMA MATER came to town. The MAROON pulled the upset and defeated my alum in that game. :( Fast forward to 2005...

In an attempt to raise funds and acknowledge the folks affected by Katrina, the students planned a "WHITE OUT" for this season. TAMU is housing hundreds of students and student athletes from Tulane and other universities.

The plan was to sell white t-shirts outside the stadium for a price and the $$ would go directly to the Katrina victims. I guarantee you they would have sold out the tshirts.

It was scrubbed today due to the racial connotations perceived by the liberal few here in College Station.

That is a shame.

They shouldn't have folded, this would not have been a big issue.

I agree. It is ridiculous, especially given the tradition of this fine school and its ethics.
