Too good a coach to oversee an almost sure tanking process..He has signed long term in Dallas, but i don't see him wanting to be part of purposeful mediocrity ..There are enticing offers/ possible openings the most likely is Cleveland after they can Blatt? a post-Kobe Lakers reclamation project? join forces with Durant in Wizards?....Thoughts?

No. You side a man/Cuban you stay with him.

Now, if Cuban goes to him and calls no joy, go in peace then Carlisle can do as he chooses.

7th seed, 10th seed, 8th seed, 7th seed the past 4 seasons..

what's the difference if you don't get past the first round?

His contract is up next year so I think he's going to wait it out until a contender fires their coach (Cleveland and Blatt?) and then hop on.

When demonkey first commited to Mavs MacMahon tweeted that it likely kept Rick from leaving next year when his contract is up because he's not a rebuilding coach. Might be all conjecture though.

The Mavs have been kicking the can down the road for a couple of years now..I think in a few hours or so, Cuban. co will finally go full-rebuild mode..Don't think Carlisle willwant to be part of 35-40 win teams..

Sign big baby Davis and we're still a playoff team, at least big baby can hit free throws.

wait a year and see if Jokbe Bryant is gone.
If so, Lakers job might be nice up and coming gig with cap space.

Timmy Duncs may have two more years left in him. Would be a nice gig in 2016-17 if CIA Popped f's up another title chance this year.

Glen Davis = poor man's Shaq, tbh. Dude is a bit too short for C but Dirk and Parsons are both tall forwards, so the overall height of our front court wouldn't look too bad. Plus, we'd have better toughness and strength in the paint if we got a meat cylinder in the form of Glen Davis, and he wouldn't cost even half the money Demonkey charges, tbh.

I agree, if DJ leaves, the Mavs should fire Cuban and move to Las Vegas and become the Strippers, because their team is stripped to the bone at present.

They could force the Thunder to overpay on Kanter or lose him, tbh. Dirk/Kanter is a horrendous frontline defensively, but maybe this DJ thing will have Cubes feeling like an asshole

Mark Cuban and Donnie Nelson have wasted Dirks career. Cuban is just a salesman and
Donnie Nelson would starve on a used car lot.......

Now with this pretty much confirmed, i could see Rick starting to look for greener pastures..

Maybe Rivers gets fired after this season and Carlisle bolts for the Clippers?

Monkey reneging means we still have at least 20m salary room unused, and it's not like the market will be over as soon as tomorrow. There're still decent FA's waiting for our calls imho.

He can bolt, but he wouldn't. I don't think Carrey is that type of coach.

He sent out feelers that he won't like to be part of a rebuild job..I mean, i don't know, will Cuban keep on patching up a fringe playoffs teams forever after this? Gotta bottom out with how much stacked the WEST RIGHT NOW..

Dirk on the Spurs would have 3-4 rings by now but he plays for a team that has got his line up right
only one time. Cuban let Nash walk and Jason Kidd who both will be HOF'ers. After they won their
ring Cuban pulled a Bulls and broke up a team that had one maybe two more runs in it so he
could chase free agents who have never came to Dallas. Michal Finley had to come to the Spurs
to get his ring......Donnie Nelson is a joke of a GM and Cuban is a rich preppy owner who plays Fantasy
basketball with a NBA team.

Wonder if Lebron veto a potential Carlisle to the Cavs after the inevitable sacking of Blatt :lol Rick is a bit of control freak and LBJ would take Mark Jackson over him..

Mavs brought him the ultimate league coach-killer :lol Another incentive for Rick to jump ship...

As good a coach as Rick is, he is notorious for benching and rotting young players. Therefore, letting him go would be a good choice for both franchise and himself if/when the Mavs actually go full tanking mode.
