Pick up 2 prime free agents, trade away a beloved but oft injured center, traded for complimentary piece, etc..

Closest I can think of was trading for RJ ...

Previous big signings were like getting Brent Barry or signing Finley off cap waiver. The only previous offseasons this good (except that they were even better) involved winning the draft lottery.

DRob came after his stint in the Navy and Elliott a rookie that year so yes they started at the same time. I think OP meant FA though as they were drafted by the team and no FAs so them playing in SA no surprise unless they pull a Kobe and refuse to play for the team that drafted you.
