David Aldridge ✔@daldridgetnt
With DeAndre Jordan going back to the Clippers, Wes Matthews's deal with Dallas goes from 4/$57M to a max deal: 4 years, $70M, per source.

Wow, thats horrifying:lol..

Only 3 players have successfully recovered from his injury, only 1 being relevant(Nique) but that was just a partial tear..

Not only that, their other "max" player is injured as well. Man, I've defended Cuban upto this point but wtf. What kind of slap in the face is this to Dirk when two sorry ass players, who probably won't even be able to play, are making more than him.

I've always said Jewwban is a horrible GM but I think now he's just fucking with the league because he's pissed off.

Just give another max contract to Kanter and we'd be stacked again tbh.

It was agreed upon if Jordan didn't come Matthews would get more money.

Mavs fans shitting all over Cuban, you must have already forgotten how shitty your franchise was before him.

Tuddy

Could have been worse for mavs IMO. Could have signed a player with zero offensive skill to a max contract.

Cuban is rewarding him for not jumping ship when given the opportunity after DJ went back to the Clips.

Mark Celibate
07-10-2015, 06:28 AM
It's not like Wesley has any bigger ship to jump over to, tbh. The FA market is nearly dry, so are the pockets of teams. Nigga knows he probably can't get 16m/yr anywhere else so he just chose to stay for money's sake, I think. Cuban asked him if he wanted to go elsewhere, actually Cuban hoped the answer would be yes so he could save the money and go full tanking mode, but unfortunately Matthews was smart enough not to buy this trick... Nigga needs the money because he ain't Dirk Nowitzki, he would make a fool of himself if he decided to play elsewhere for mid-level salary rather than earn max salary in Dallas.

I imagine it was his agent's idea. That's what you pay them for.
