No. There's still Parker to worry about and Duncan's age. Roster is nice, but not invincible. The Warriors and healthy Cavs are equally as good on paper.

Now if the Lakers don't at least capture a playoff spot with Hibbert (I'm told he has 22-10-4 potential), Randle (Charles Barkley 2.0), Mamba, Clarkson (all rookie 1st team), and Russell (the heir to Russell Westbrook but with better court vision), plus a stacked bench featuring Brandon Bass, Lou Williams (6th man of the year), and Swaggy, then it's probably one of the biggest failures in NBA history.

Weak troll attempt is weak.

:lol Kyle Anderson on the "biggest failure of NBA history" roster.

Of recent memory, bigger failures were the 2004 Lakers and 2011 Miami Heat, our roster (that is if we don't ring), doesn't make us a superteam. We're just loaded with elite players with great chemistry, we don't have a lot of all-stars haphazardly put together into a franchise.

It's far more likely that, if healthy, the Cavs not winning the championship will go down as one of the biggest failures as they have the best roster on paper of the entire NBA.

The Heat losing to the Mavs was a colossal failure.

Adding a good but not very good/great player in LMA shouldn't make the Spurs an instant favorite to win it all. They'll start to get annoyed with his scoring 25 points on 24 shots especially shooting so many jumpers. Dude's a flake when it comes to big men.

Detroit clicked at the right time man, they were playing on a level in those finals where few teams could have beaten them TBH. I doubt if the Spurs make the finals that year they beat that team either, they weren't going to be stopped IMO.
I still like thatthat loaded Celtics team because of the bench. And possibly the beefy Lakers front line in the late 2000s.

Reaching. Duncan is 40. His legacy is secured as the 4th best player of all-time, regardless of what happens.

But Kobe has to at least win 45 games with that stacked, young core of his plus the additions of an all star big man and the 6th man of the year, or his legacy is doomed.

Currently the spurs have the deepest and most stacked roster in the NBA. If they can't win with 3 hall of famers, DPOY winner, an hall of fame coach, while adding an all star in Aldridge and a former all star in West, they're easily the biggest failure in NBA history.

It would significantly add to the damage the 04 olympics, 8, 6, 1st round exit to the clippers etc. did to Jim's legacy.

Atleast let him play this year to see how he does. Who else can they get? Honestly trade him for what? His trade value is not high right now and they are not going to trade him anyways so it is a moot point. Patty and whoever else on the team though are back ups in this league so he starts.

Let's actually talk basketball. Assuming every team stayed healthy, would you pick the Spurs to win a championship over the field? No.

Vegas doesn't even consider them the favorites to win it all. I think golden state still has the best chance to ring, followed by Cleveland, and then the Spurs. But the problem with the Spurs is health is so much more of a factor considering the ages of Tim Tony and Manu. Between that and implementing a player who quite frankly has been playing an offensive game his whole career that is almost the opposite of pops style, and a lot has to go right for the Spurs. Granted, a lot always has to go right for championship teams, but the Spurs have more work to do than the Warriors, Cavs, or even clippers if I'm being honest

SpurSwag

He's so desperate for a bump :lol

The Warriors won 73 games. The Spurs weren't winning shit this year.

The biggest failure in NBA history is still the Kobe/Howard/Nash Lakers.

Swept by yours truly :toast

Negative son. Not buying your :downspin:

Fact: no one was buying the Dubs winning 73 at the beginning of the year. The Dubs were lucky to go thru injured teams last year to rang. Barkley dismissed them. So did many of the media, ST, etc. etc.

Fact: LMA was supposed to put the Spurs over the top. Then D West took a paycut to add to the mix. Everybody was on the Spurs' sagging deuce. Including upstairs (don't make me bump threads :lol) Then Pop DNP-CDs to several players all year...cruising to a franchise record 67 win season.

Spurs were seen as Dubs' equal, all year. You're team was off of the record breaking pace by a mere 6 games. But y'all didn't remember what a healthy Thunder squad was capable of. :lol

You're team had 3 HOFers who have played together for a decade under the tutelage of the same coach. Pop let a rookie coach take his cookie. :lol

Here, only 1 "expert" predicted us to win it.

Only one expert here:

http://www.si.com/nba/2015/10/23/nba-finals-predictions-preview-cavaliers-warriors-spurs-lebron-james

And :lol no, the Spurs weren't seen as the Warriors equal. Maybe before the game against them in which we lost by 30. But after that, everyone knew we stood little chance.

Meanwhile, every expert here had you at least going to the Finals.

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/20737434/cbssportscom-2012-2013-nba-playoff-predictions

And for the entire season, you were out of the playoff race and wound up getting swept by yours truly :toast

Oh, and here's a prediction from actual experts:

In an NBA.com poll of the league GMs, 96.7 percent picked the Lakers to win the Pacific Division, 60 percent picked them to win the Western Conference (beating out OKC who received 36.7 percent of the vote) and 23.3 percent picked the purple and gold to win the NBA Championship

Couldn't even win that weakass division being stacked. Biggest. Failure. In. NBA. History.

midnightpulp
06-06-2016, 02:33 AM
Just own it, bro. You were 96.7 percent favored by NBA GMs to win the lowly Pacific Division, where your only competition were the Clippers. You had Pau Gasol, Dwight, Kirby, and Nash, and you couldn't even bring home that insignificant regular season banner :lol

Simply the biggest NBA failure relative to hype we've seen in our lifetimes.

Man..It hasnt fully sunk in but that was trully the biggest failure in NBA history. Most wins in RS history, MVP, come back from a 3-1 deficit, lead 3-1, homecourt advatnage, Game 7 at home wehre virtually every home team wins, had the lead before the 2 minute mark.

All.of that and you lose..wow

Indeed. Nothing comes close to matching it in NBA history. Not the 2013 Lakers, 2004 Lakers, 2007 Mavs, 2011 Spurs.

Not forcing son. Pop, Jim, TP and Manure been together a decade. 73 wins for the Dubs? That aint shit when you think about how the Spurs coasted to 67 wins (many DNP-CDS for many key players). You just signed LMA. Despite winning the most games ever, the Spurs were right there all year.

No one saw the Dubs winning 73 before the season started. Many media picked you guys to "upset" the greatest RS of all-time who finished a mere 6 games ahead of you guys. You and many other farmers thought so too. Admit it. Biggest failure in NBA history. Own it son.

No, that is cutting LeBron short. LeBron is better than mortal curry and every player in that series by several orders of magnitude. I think if you replay the series again Cleveland wins between 40-55% of the time.
