I can't stand Jalen. He thinks everybody loves him and knows who he is. But in reality, he is an annoying, unfunny and worthless analyst that makes ESPN's preface show unwatchable.

I didn't watch, either..ex-players are by far the shittiest analysts in mainstream sports, it's rare that they ever provide decent analysis or takes, tbh..

I've only ever listened to Jalen Rose when he's on podcasts with Zach Lowe, but I generally ignore Rose's parts, unless I'm stuck in traffic:lol..

ESPN has followed McDonalds marketing strategy. Play both sides of the coin.

Let me illustrate by example. McDonald's went to this mickey d's shtick a decade or so ago and went all urban and Afrocentric. Commercials were a perfect illustration. Would have one for black audiences and then a separate one that was caucasion oriented. Then a third version which is a melting pot approach. Surely everybody remembers the one where brothas, honkies and Asians are playing Rollerblade basketball on a park court.

Hilarious. Who the fuck plays Rollerblade basketball. Try that crap on an outdoor court in an urban environment and nine times out of ten you will get curb stomped and run off.

ESPN quickly followed suit. You got the Stephen smiths and jalen roses (ABC affiliation) on there for a reason. Same for some caucasion idiots for white folks.

I'd take Butler over Thompson too, Thompson has always been a regular season player and he was carried by Curry and Golden State's ridiculous depth this playoffs. Healthy Matthews was right in that discussion too.

Have to admit that irritated me :lol Even if it was an attempt at a hyperbolic joke it really makes no sense.

No problems with Jalen. I like the Thunder's chances with everyone healthy, too. If the Warriors can get it done...

virtual certainty that turned off fans won't vote Jordan onto all star team. I'd bet coaches may have a bias as well. His behavior was shameful.

How glorious would it be if it was painfully obvious he deserved to be there and the coaches wouldn't put him on the team? I guess it'd just be more fire for the Clips' "Us against the world :cry:cry:cry" theme next season. Don't wanna make Choke Paul mad. He might make the 2nd round again :wow

:lol at Jalen calling LMA and DJ Free Agent 1a and 1b ... they are not even in the same conversation in terms of overall impact, offensive production, passing and making good decisions during winning time .... while DJ was considered a good defender, his defense was highly overrated tbh imo

:lol:lol at Jalen thinking KD will come back and be anything but a shell of his former self after that injury

I think he might actually be a genius of the broadcasting business. People don't remember Madden and Chuck for having better analysis than anyone else is capable of, lots of guys can do analysis. They get remembered because of memorable schtick that audiences remember. That's Jalen's whole deal -- the "champagning and campaigning", his stories from coming up through the game, all of that. Now that Simmons is gone, ESPN should just build a studio show around Jalen plus a couple of setup men.

Besides, people who are genuinely brilliant about the game go into coaching or front office work, not broadcasting anyway.

I had his rookie card. Even then, I knew it was worthless then and he proved it years later.

Nothing pleases you assholes tbh

This, they are crybabies oh no he sucks, he picked against San Antonio... :) Let's not forget that it was Jalen Rose that told us LMA is coming to the Spurs long before the season ended.

I truly think it will be 4 teams that compete for the title next year SAS, OKC, Davs and one of the 3; LA Clippers, Memphis, Houston. And the healthiest team will win. Just like it happened this year. Which is why OKC is such a smart bet. They already had their fair of share of injuries, so chances are they will be healthy.

SilverSpur
07-10-2015, 02:27 AM
OKC will implode next year. Durant and Westbrook can't play together at the levels they want to play because one or the other has to take a back seat. We saw this time and time again but when one goes down with an injury the other goes into MVP mode.
Durant will try to prove he is the man when he comes back and Westbrook will not like it considering what he did during Durants injury. They will go at each other all next year knowing they both are free agents at the end of the season and they will both leave so they have nothing to lose but to out do one another and in the process hurt the team and cause friction and or a bad season.
In other words " screw it, I'm leaving anyway so let me show the world who's better"

BatManu20
07-10-2015, 03:03 AM
I, for one, prefer it when the Spurs aren't the favorite. I hope everyone jumps on the OKC bandwagon and they get the majority of the pub.

BatManu20
07-10-2015, 03:06 AM
The one thing I agreed with in this broadcast is when he said that the Spurs are really old and Pop is really going to have to manage their minutes well. Wouldn't be surprised to see Duncan sit a couple dozen games this season. Manu around 20 as well. That's why getting another Center is imperative imo.

spursparker9
07-10-2015, 06:09 AM
I think there is a high chance that Durant will leave OKC if they didn't win it this year

I can't write off OKC. They have the greatest playoffs sixth man of all-time on their team.

People keep pushing OKC, but they haven't been to the Finals since 2012. That team isn't even the same team. They've fallen every other year. They've never won anything. No one knows what OKC will look like next year. Durant coming off a foot injury that had issues and multiple surgeries. New head coach. Will or won't they have Kanter (hope not).

A lot of assumptions are being made there with no history to prove that they deserve the benefit of the doubt. i could see if they had been to finals 2 or 3 times or something. But once 3 years ago with a very different team.
