Cuban needs to embrace a full rebuilding project ..It is clear that Nowitzki era is over..He just keep throwing stuff at the wall and seeing if something sticks; and never did for 4 years now whether in Free agency or veteran pluggin..Now is the time to work through the draft and hope a couple of years from now the West competition gets diluted..

Product of Sloans system in Utah, has not been the same since (Nor has Boozer). Overrated and fat now, lazy and just not motivated.

Once he got paid, he spent all that money on donuts and twinkles, he stopped playing basketball since then tbh.

Comparing his Jazz & Nets numbers

- Assists down: expected without the system
- Field Goal % down
- More 3 point attempts

Left Utah at the age of 26. Still only 30

Give whatever money is left on the table to our nigga Deron, lets DO IT, Cuban!!!

Sign Dalembert back as our starting C for the 2015-2016 season so here again we have the long-craved triple D: Dirk/Deron/Dalembert, we STAAAAACKED!!! Don't be fucking pessimistic just because we missed out on a shameless neger, niggas, cheer up and welcome Deron home.

Wouldn't his cap hit be minimum if they release him and we sign?

It's certainly delightful news that our nigga Deron wants to come home, but the question I wanna ask is - why the FUCK he didn't sign with our Mavs three years ago, but instead chose to join Brooklyn fucking Nets for the same size of contract? If he had joined Dallas three years ago, I'm pretty damn sure that nigga DH would've joined us too and the triple D Dynasty would've had come true!!! Nigga Deron screwed our franchise just as much as De Monkey did, tbh. Hope he can pick up all-star form in Dallas and help us remain in the playoff range, just as a self-redemption for him.

CROFL, Williams is owed $43 million over the next two years. How can he possibly think he's going to get released from Brooklyn when owed that kind of money?

Mark Celibate

Had the nigga made the right choice (joining Mavs instead of Nets) three years ago, DH would've probably never joined the Lockets and your sorry team would've been tied to the 9th post for another 5 years at least, meanwhile the Great Satan Lebron would've still been ringless by now probably, a one-timer at best.

Maybe if Cuban wouldn't have showed a Fucking cartoon in an actual presentation, he could lure free agents.

For what I have read from those articles, the Nets also want him gone so they can avoid the awful luxury tax. If they waive him straight away (without his consent) they can spread the $43m over five years, which would allow them to pay less tax each year. But the best scenario for Nets is the two sides reach an agreement of mutual termination, so the Nets can buy out his contract and 0 money would be counted against the tax threshold.

If he wants out, he shouldn't ask for a buyout. Both sides should just agree to terminate his contract and end their suffering.

The Nets would be fucking idiots if they did anything to accommodate that failure, tbh.

Mark Celibate
07-10-2015, 07:19 AM
In other words, the Russians would cheer for his departure if he agrees to a buyout, and it'd be a good scenario for Deron himself since he wants out and to play for his hometown team, a win-win deal imho. And it'd of course be good business for them Mavs as well, for obvious reasons.

So the only difference would be how much money he gets from the Nyets in exchange for his departure, and I believe the two sides wouldn't be too far away to reach an agreement. Nigga will sign with Mavs as soon as he is a FA again, and that's what we care most about. Just sign the ex-Mav Dalembert back to Dallas and we'll be a contender again next season with the brand new triple D of Dirk/Deron/Dalember plus solid role players in Wesley and Parsons, we STACKED!!!

Let's see what type of $$ and years he signs for in Dallas after a buyout. I don't want the two years and $43 mil remaining on his deal. As long as this doesn't fuck up future flexibility, he's better than Devin Harris. I like the Zaza move since we didn't give up anything of consequence for him. Our pick in next year's draft goes to Boston unless it's top 7. Going to have to bite the bullet on that one sometime, might as well be next year and get it over with.

I know the "right" thing to do is tank, but Cuban can't do that to Dirk. Dirk is too loyal to asked to be traded. So if that's the case, even though tanking is better for the franchise, you have to do what you can to help win as many games now for Dirk. At least for the next two years.

Because if the team can't find a trade partner, the goal then shifts to saving as much as possible. If Dwill gives up 10M of his guaranteed money, that translates close to 20M in savings for BKY. Plus, if he gives up 10M, plus Dallas has to bid on him and let's say 5M is the winning bid, that comes off for BKY too.

Depends on how much BKY wants to save money vs how much they think Dwill can help them.

There's really no incentive to tank next year. They won't be good, but I'm not sure they'll be so bad that they'll end up being able to keep their pick. Might as well dilute the value of the pick going to the Celtics. The West is so stacked that I see 7 teams as locks for the playoffs assuming full health: Warriors, Spurs, Thunder, Grizzlies, Clippers, Rockets, Pelicans (Davis is such a beast). They'll be fighting it out with the Suns and Jazz for the 8 seed. Still, a competitive team that can win 40-some odd games is valuable to the bottom line in terms of home attendance.

Some Jerry's Kids on the forum swore up and down he was the best PG in the league.

Like 3-4 years ago the debate everyone was having on sports forums was who was the best point guard in the nba... Chris Paul, or Deron Williams. They both signed new contracts and went downhill from there.

Dunno why Nyets would let Deron leave without getting of that money off of there books.

Deron ain't ever gonna make that kind of $$$$ again. He's washed up ..

CROFL, Williams is owed $43 million over the next two years. How can he possibly think he's going to get released from Brooklyn when owed that kind of money?

From David Aldridge:

So this is how the Deron Williams would potentially work for both sides: Williams is due around $43.3M for the last two years of his contract (2016-17 is a player option at $22.3M, which he obv would exercise). If he and the Nets agree on a buyout, the buyout amount, whatever it is, becomes his cap number for the 2015-16 season. But Brooklyn would then use the stretch provision on Williams (he is eligible b/c his new deal came after the last CBA was adopted in 2011). If the Nets use the stretch on Williams this season they can stretch the new buyout number over five seasons. If they wait until 2016-17 to do so they can only stretch it out over three seasons, which is why there's incentive for the team to do it now. For example (this is NOT the amount; this is just an example to explain), if Williams & agent agreed to a $30M buyout of the last two years, Williams's cap number for '15-'16 becomes $30M. That gets stretched by the Nets over five years, for a $6M cap number for Williams for each of the next five seasons, starting in '15-'16, through '19-'20. That's a $15M reduction in his cap number for this season, which would give Brooklyn a chance to get under the $84.7M tax threshold for next season by waiving some non-guaranteed players for next season (Brooklyn is currently around $102.5M in salaries for next season, including the non-guaranteed players). And the cap number for Williams for 2016-17 would go down by $16M, giving the Nets significantly more cap room to go after free agents like Kevin Durant. Williams would then be free to sign with Dallas as an unrestricted free agent--for an amount that would presumably make up the money he gave up with the Nets, and allow him to be free in the summer of '17. (H/T Eric Pincus of the L.A. Times and Basketball Insiders, who stays on top of the actual salary numbers as well as anybody.)

Dude has to be top 5 in the Most Entitled category of the league. He hasn't been relevant since his days in Utah, but he still acts like a max player who demands max money and max attention.

Face it Deron Williams...you suck now and nobody wants you.

Mark Celibate

Deron is a Dallaser in heart and for that alone we should sign him imho. And I agree with Findog, there'll still be one or two playoff spots open for competition next season, and if a marginal playoff team chooses to tank it should be Suns or Jazz, but not us.
