I don't even think Brent or the other guy know about Monster

Brent was still referring to the "Austin Toros." :toast

Definitely the best game of Kyle Anderson's summer league thus far.

- He followed up a solid performance yesterday with an even better performance today. He struggled all SL to be consistent game-to-game so it was nice to see it for once.
- He started the game with two sloppy first quarter turnovers. One was VERY sloppy. After that? Not a single turnover in any of the last 3 quarters.
- He had a respectable shooting night going 5-12. Not great by any means. But compared to some of his earlier efforts its strong.
- The best part of his shooting was the two 3 pointers that me made (2-2). One of them was definitely a good bit of lucky bounce, but thats all part of the game.
- He also continues to massacre these SL players by drawing consistent fouls. Even better, hes finishing at the line (10-11 tonight).
- His rebounding numbers have been pretty steady all SL and he put up 5 again today.
- Not a lot of assists (2 today), but thats largely a function of just terrible shooting all around.

These are the kinds of games that we've been expecting from Kyle. Considering his draft pedigree and NBA experience he needs to be doing this kind of thing with regularity against this level of competition. I understand that the SL isn't the best place for him to showcase his talents - but Kyle has a ton of skill and most of these guys are scrubs. Keep putting in these kinds of performances!

Nice write up. I have to say I'm impressed with Kyle's ability to draw fouls. Athleticism is irrelevant when you're on the charity stripe.

Humor isn't for everyone apparently. You should check out who made the Spurs sign Simmons thread.

There's enough stupid on this board that it's hard to tell the difference...

Telling them to get the fuck back on defense. A dunk is cool but only worth two points.

That's what it appears she's doing... though the game is practically over! Glad to see she's keeping the players on their toes. Glad to see that Anderson is tightening up the execution of his game. Sloppiness should be unacceptable for a Spurs player.

He got the message, so the next time, he just went for a simple layup.

Becky seems like one of those people that commands respect and you do what she says, otherwise she'll rip you a new one. She's a fem-Pop. :lol

She certainly did seem happy that he got the message. Finding out how to fit into the Spurs system while still having your own personality and play style isn't always easy. Simmons should still be that high-flying energy guy. But he also needs to keep his head in the game at all times. I still really like him with Mills, Manu, Diaw and West.

Good to see you coming around on KA. I agree with everything you said. The back to back good nights definitely give a little more comfort to him getting those 10 minutes a night. But he needs to keep developing and playing consistent.

I've never disliked him. My point has always been that hes just not ready yet and needs another year of focused development to figure out where he fits on the court. Hes still not ready for NBA rotation minutes. But hes starting to put the pieces together on the SL floor. Do that for a year in Austin and with some spot minutes up in the big club and we might be cooking with gas before you know it...

Well he did the summer league thing last year and looked good. Now he needs the pocket minutes this year. See how he handles that. So I agree.

No. He did the Summer League thing last year and looked like a big question mark and a long-term project.

Today he definitely looked good. But can he do that consistently? Five games into Summer League the answer has definitely been "no." And unfortunately, if he can't do that at the summer league level then the NBA will just devour him. And thats pretty much what happened during his spot minutes last season. He got chewed up and spit out.

Sorry I meant that he did NBDL last years he was usually the best player on the court and was consistent with that. I still think he needs the 10 minutes off the bench this year to see how he handles it. Let the big club have him and develop him in practice.

That was pretty cool. She apparently yelled at the guys on the sideline who were stepping out to celebrate as well. When he got that next steal, she was standing there with her arms folded before smiling and sitting down. Very Pop like.

Hes still struggling with determining how to best use his talents. He probably academically knows what he needs to do and now he just needs more practical experience doing it. I think we'll see him spend spurts of time in San Antonio getting semi-regular minutes and testing his development. Then he'll be sent back to Austin for lengthy amounts of time to continue to refine those strategies and get muscle memory for those techniques. I imagine he'll hop back and forth several times between the two clubs. There just won't be a whole lot of minutes for him in San Antonio considering his pitifully low efficiency level thus far in the NBA. But he'll likely get extended chances at both sites. Just nothing consistent throughout the season.

Aldridge is more like Splitter's replacement in the starting five.

Marjanovic is more like Ayres replacement.

Baynes replacement is David West.
