Spurs won't win a ring without heavy contributions from Duncan. Also, Duncan's willingness to take less money to resign made this superteam possible. Tainted is too strong a word, but I think OBJECTIVE fans would see that Jordan 6 > Duncan 6 if Duncan "played a small role."

Jordan was still at the top of his game and the best player on the court when the Bulls won their 6th. TD might only be the 3rd best player on the Spurs next season, so that would take a little bit of luster off, but only a little bit. Winning 6 is worthy of homage and esteem, no matter what.
