The Spurs Family

Spurs Roster 2015-2016

T. Parker/P. Mills/R. Mccallum
D. Green/M. Ginobili/J. Simms
K. Leonard/K. Anderson
L. Aldridge/B. Diaw/D. West
T. Duncan/B. Marjanovich/M. Bonner

*We probably don't even need a fifteenth player.*

I see what Pop did. He rebuilt a team for the ages. He built a Spurs superteam that will give rise to a new generation of Spurs champions, the the youth of which will form the future framework. Ultimately, he goes for the story behind the player. People who had hardship of some kind, and survived and persevered and ultimately thrived through strength of character (e.g., Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard and Cady Lalanne and Nikola Milutinov).

*Grandfather* Duncan replacement - LMA (snubbed for years, horror bball decade)
*the weird uncle* Manu replacement - JSimms (barely graduated hs, undrafted baller)
*sociopathic brother who slept with your wife* TP replacement - RayMac3 (coach's sun, dropped for Rondo @10M?)
*sweet 'ole auntie* Bobo replacement - SlowMo (name says it all)
*grumpy uncle enforcer* Speights add in - David West
*skilled Frankenstein* Bogut add-in - Boban...

And finally. Bless that little woman's big heart - Pop's proverbial "daughter" Becky. You're right Phil Jackson - it's not a dynasty. It's a family.

I think PATFO saw all this free agency madness coming ten miles away and they knew they could capitalize on it. Look at Sacramento, Houston, LA x 2, Phoenix, Dallas, Portland flailing and failing (in the long term) - the Spurs undercut them all, reloaded and restocked, improved at every position in depth and versatility, while everyone else scrambles around for the scraps and tries to jam it together at the last minute. Brilliant moves PATFO. The NBA team is like a combination of chess and a big jigsaw puzzle - everything has to fit in its correct place. Bravo! xD

I don't think Boba is gonna leapfrog Matty B anytime soon. Not saying Bonner's a definite to be ahead of Boba, but I think Pop trusts him more...or something.

How many years until we see Nikola in a Spurs uniform?
