The Denver Nuggets have re-signed G DerMarr Johnson, team General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

“We’re pleased to have D.J. back,” said Vandeweghe. “He played a key role in our success last season and continues to get better.”

Johnson, 6-9, 201, averaged 7.1 ppg and 2.1 rpg in 71 games for the Nuggets last season. He shot a career-best .499 (185-371) from the floor and .358 (53-148) from three-point territory. He started 40 games with the Nuggets posting a 28-12 record in those contests. He has averaged 6.7 ppg and 2.5 rpg in 242 games during his four-year NBA career.-

Earl Watson was their best signing and Julius Hodge will probably be a nice player for them.

Well I think the biggest goal for the Nuggets this year was keeping all their pieces. This is a team that is really on the right track. Last year they looked like a team that was good, but still a year or two away from really being dangerous. Granted they could have used an outside shooter, but if they are healthy and ready to go they could play 82 games of what made them the best team after the all star break. They will be this years Suns- lots of young talent, lots of running, just less threes and probably a little more D.

If the Nuggies are going to do anything, it will have to be this year. Then Karl's shelf life will be just about up.

Now they can watch him jack up threes against the coach's will.

They signed him very cheap. I think he wanted to stay there all along.
