ANOTHER NEW POLL: Rand Paul is the only GOP candidate beating Clinton in Iowa!


In the poll, which was released Thursday, the numbers show Clinton is tied or close to being tied with every Republican candidate. Rand Paul leads Clinton by a percentage point in the state, with 43-percent to 42-percent.

A “super PAC” set up by allies of Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky raised just over $3 million in the first six months of the year, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission on Friday — far less than most of the outside groups backing Mr. Paul’s rivals for the Republican presidential nomination.

Almost half of the money came from a single donor: George Macricostas, a Nevada-based businessmen and technology entrepreneur. Most of the rest came from Jeff Yass, an investor from Pennsylvania, who contributed $1 million.

A handful of other donors — some of them also raising money directly for Mr. Paul’s campaign — made six-figure contributions, including Robert Arnott, a California investor, and Kenneth Garschina, a longtime Paul backer in New York.

hometown paper declares death watch for Rand Paul's presidential campaign:


on Thursday, Paul was embarrassed at home as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush beat the Kentucky senator to the punch by becoming the first presidential candidate to file his paperwork and deliver his $15,000 filing fee for Kentucky’s 2016 presidential caucuses.

Paul fought long and hard to persuade the state party to adopt the caucus method of selecting a nominee, ponying up $250,000 to help defray the cost.


That Bush made it onto the caucus ballot before Paul again raised questions about the senator’s organizational strengths.
