Might Parker, Ginobili, and Duncan play on average only 75 games this year? Well this is what their roster would look like in the unlikely scenario when NONE of them suit up... what do you think would happen? how would the game go? lol (honestly i don't think it's all that awful)

1 - R. Mccallum, Jimmer Fredette*
2 - D. Green/Patty Mills/ J. Simms
3 - K. Leonard/K. Anderson
4 - B. Diaw/D. West
5 - L. Aldridge/B. Marjanovich/M. Bonner

*unconfirmed prospective

Did LaMarcus got cut during training camp in your suggested scenario?

i cut him @ my training camp. supposedly had too many voodoo donuts built up in his system and had a bad poopoo made a mess all over the court. decided unbelievable turn around jumpers were only so useful

Don't worry, Pop may cut him at least one more time then he will return more humble and ready to thrive in the System.

but seriously, do we win like 65+ games this year? how not, right? with pop at the helms?

Also, Jimmer is a 2 & Patty would be a 1.

It's still a playoff team, borderline contender... Even in the West.

This team with LMA added to the OP would represent the East in the Finals without question

I think Jimmy is actually more of a 1 than Patty is.... Patty can't drive and kick. Fredette can. sorta lol. all the places he's gone to none of the guys he passes to can do shit widit

If the Spurs can stay healthy throughout the the season I think your win total of 65 is possible.

75 games on average for those three next year might even be on the high end... they played an average of 71.7 games last year. so maybe only 70 games??

Big 3 should just rest until after the all-star break! :lol

Seriously, no way Manu and Timmy and maybe even Tony should play back to backs this year.

Gotta avoid the 2nd night of those back to back games and you should be okay.

I thought about that but you never know...

I think the Spurs are deep enough to be able to rest one or two guys one night and sit the other guy down and the following night play the one guy that sat down the followiing night. I hope the Spurs are motivated to get a top two seed this year. I really think losing in the first round this past season may light some fire under them especially against the Clippers who are 2nd most worried about team on my list, but I do feel like they match up extremely well against them tbh.

Because we play in the West.
Because Pop will experiment.
Because we have guys that will play significant minutes together that never have before.

I think that the Spurs will still wind up winning quite a few games even without the big 3. Most likely the games off will be against the Eastern Conference anyway.

spurslegacy
07-23-2015, 12:35 AM
i'm not sure any of those reasons will matter. i think the talent level is just too high for pop to fuck it up. look at our roster vs ANYbody else's, we are legit 13-15 deep.

people are complaining about giving jimmer fredette a spot at the 15th for essentially a parker/mills/manu reinforcement

Fireball

The fire will be there ... lost last season ... new players ... only dangers are the multiple-injury bug, a schedule featuring something like December last season or a chemistry issue which cannot be solved easily.

I still dont believe in resting players too much. I think you need form and endurance going into the playoffs.

You cant expect tim to play once a week then play 30mpg in a playoff series

sounds reasonable... with jimmer helping grab those wins that seem just out of reach

Parker, Duncan and Ginobili playing an average of 75 games?

Duncan probably, 70-76 games, mostly missing due to rest on b2bs. Reliable to pencil in the lineup imo.

Parker maybe, 66-77, depends how he holds up. Hasn't played 75+ in awhile.

Ginobili? Let's be realistic. . .45-67 games. Has not played more than 70 games in half a decade and that's even with playing sub 24 MPG every year since then.

He won't be able to grab those wins, that seem out of reach, if he's sitting behind the bench.

Realistically though, probably we shall see at least 15 games where Tony, Manu and Tim will be out.

Starting Five:

McCallum - G
Green - SG
Leonard - SF
Aldridge - PF
West - C

2nd team:

Mills
Simmons
Anderson
Diaw
Marjanovic

Specialists:

Bonner
Fredette

Still a pretty decent team on paper.

I've seen people putting david west as center everywhere else i see. is this not to upset LMA and his hatred of the letter C??? hasn't LMA already said he'll share duties with duncan? can west even play center?? isn't it obvious that when duncan doesn't play at all, LMA WILL be starting as center with West in PF?

FYI, Manu has played more games than Leonard in the past three years, more than Parker in the last two. And 5 years ago he played the 3rd most minutes on the team.

With us not replacing what we lost dfensively in Tiago, this almost has to be the plan. I think LA has alluded to it some, and I think some are taking the "I don't want to play Center." rumor/comment a little too literally.

i doubt there's a game where pop plays neither Duncan or LMA. Obviously, LMA can use all the time in the system he can get (hey can we send him to the d-league for a year just to make sure?)... and given Duncan's a few days older than Lamarcus, you figure LMA MIGHT miss three or four, while duncan will miss 10-15. but i want lamarcus learning where's he supposed to be in the offensive sets and defensive schemes for as long as he can bare playing until the peak fluidity is reached.
