I love Tolbert's color. LMAO his call on ABC when he said the Spurs were in full arousal mode as Stephen Jackson was going nuts in the fourth quarter of Game 6 of the Finals.

Good Interview with Popovich about Duncan and the spurs longevity. So Steve Kerr apparently told Popovich winning a championship was easier than he thought as a first year head coach lol Pop just laughed and the interviewer just said well, you need talent to win.

Excellent interview.

We are so lucky to have Pop running this team. Truly one of the all-time greats in any sport...not only as a coach, but as an individual.

He defers to Duncan a lot, and maybe that's all just modesty on his part...but frankly, none of this would be possible without him. No Pop, Duncan probably bolts to Orlando in 2001 or whenever it was, and the Spurs may not even be in San Antonio anymore.

He also thought the Lakers missed an at the end of his career Rick Fox.

Pop is the best PERIOD. Just think if pop wasn't the coach all these years and it was Phil Jackson or doc rivers. They would be about me me,me and more me. Pop tells u what u need to hear but u don't want to hear.

He also insisted as the Spurs were blowing the Lakers out, I'm paraphrasing... "they're (meaning Lakers) going to make a run, you know they will, how are the Spurs going to respond when the Lakers cut the lead to 10 or 12...." then Kevin Willis rebound slams, and then it's like "maybe not".

Tolbert wasn't phony enough to stay on national TV. I think someone didn't realize that in the first place, or he never would've been on those broadcasts. I'm sure Stern didn't like that he routinely called out all the ghost fouls on Kobe.

Love listening to Pop discuss such a wide range of topics. The man is incredibly humble and intelligent. I've also been wondering if he'd seen Whiplash :lol

Interviewer talked WAY too much, but the parts where Pop actually got a word in were great. Wish he had discussed some other topics though.

On radio, yes but not on the local telecast.

That's because Pop doesn't talk a lot. Tom has to fill the time slot. Tom is fantastic, great radio voice and cadence.

Why this radio host didn't just jerk him off instead of all those empty flattery questions? What about asking him some real questions and about the last year failure and why he fucked up the season in so many ways???

Tolbert calling Robinson a great post up player?

Great iso, not post up. They played at the same time, Christ...

Great interview when Pop is relaxed.

So what happens when you hear, "click" on your cell phone?

Tolbert came with the flattery, then asked some questions that had a chance of being answered. He got Popovich to elaborate, this almost never happens.
