Shit, I didn't realize the locked i7 and i5 were going to be 65W chips. I mean the fucking Haswell Pentiums are 53W chips. Intel is making a hell of a pre-emptive strike on AMD's Zen if true. I gotta think lots of people are going to jump on these chips at these prices for upgrades. Plus only the two unlocked chips will need expensive aftermarket heatsinks to stay quiet.

good to hear, planning on upgrading to 1151, prolly get that 6600 on black Friday. mmm 65 watts, so much power saving

article I read a while back said skylake was going to hold traditional price points despite not being worth it.

Well so much for that. The i7-6700k is launching at $350 and the i5-6600k at $243, which are the same prices the Devil's Canyon i7-4790k and i5-4690k chips launched at. That's what you get listening to chink sites tbh.

The official prices aren't too bad, and Skylake offers a nice bump in performance from Haswell. Nothing groundbreaking since they have little competition on the desktop, but you're still getting a few percent more performance for less power than Haswell.
