Neeson and Walken for serious roles. Bill Murray and Leslie Nielsen for comedy. An underrated pick would be Robin Williams. He was probably the most universal voice ever. He's one of the few who could deliver just about any dialogue in any film genre and it was great.

uh...how about the 3 page Val Kilmer thread from about a month ago. You can't say "Val Kimer" on here without that shit popping into everyone's mind.

Didn't read it, and unless the thread was about him milli vanilli'ing his acting career, it doesn't really jive with the narrative of this thread. Kilmer has some iconic roles, and his voice, in particular, how he says his lines, is one of the big reasons why.

Val Kilmer was a hell of an actor in his prime, no doubt; I just don't think of him as a "voice" guy, though.

You're going to tell me his accent and inflection as Doc didn't make that character? He had a way of delivering lines. Not always. But he had this restrained angst, too cool to care delivery and to me, it was a stylish way to talk. I didn't figure voice was limited to octave.

I'd say Kevin Spacey for similar.

See, when I think of Kilmer at his best I think of the way he would just completely inhabit a character more than any particular physical or vocal attribute. He was Doc Holiday; he was Jim Morrison. Hell, he could even pull off a Native American character like in Thunderheart (underrated movie, btw.)

Now, Kevin Spacey is a solid choice as a "voice" man. It's almost like the "voice" guys always play themselves, whereas Kilmer could disappear into a role. Like, there are "Kevin Spacey roles" but there are no "Val Kilmer roles" because you never got the feeling Val Kilmer was playing himself. You know what I mean?

I'm not saying you're not right. Most of what you're saying is pretty much what I'm saying.

We are interpreting the title of the thread slightly differently. Where you're naming your favorite voice actors, I'm naming the actors whose voices and styles of delivery I always seem to enjoy, regardless of roles, quirks, etc.

Some of them would be considered "voice" actors, but most are more really good actors with a great way of delivering lines in all their movies who also happen to have strong or distinct voices.
