Would've liked to open at home, but regardless, should be an interesting game. Both teams will look very different from last year.

edit: Well, I guess it's possible we could be opening at home on the 27th...but hopefully the league wouldn't give us a b2b to start off the season :lol

at OKC is the opener:

630806632289673216

With that said, opening with a back-to-back isn't all that uncommon. The Spurs have opened with a back-to-back 4 times since the start of the 2007-08 season.

Yeah after posting that I remembered that both Cleveland and NY opened last season with b2bs. Guess it's not that rare, but regardless, nice to get confirmation that OKC is our opener as well.

The game's an opportunity. If you win it, you get a road win that will likely prove to be very helpful down the road. If you don't, you've tested yourself with the new guys early on, in a tough road spot and should grow from that experience.

I'm going to say under 20, I think he'll put up about 18-20 ppg this season. I hope people aren't getting unreal expectations and thinking he's going to be like Prime DRob. I think he's going to be huge for making the offense even more efficient, but you're not dropping him the ball on the block or clearing out the lane for him on every possession with a team this talented around him.

The fear with these early big match-up games vs fellow contenders is wracking up losses that might come to bite us in the ass in tiebreak situation in the final stretch..We are going to need to work our team chemistry the first couple of months, so i'm hoping for a soft schedule in Nov/Dec...

I agree, but OKC will need adjusting just as much as us tbh. KD missed the 2nd half of last season with injury so he might be shaking off some rust, plus he never got to play with Kanter. They have a new coach who has never coached in the NBA.

Why would they not think that? He's already been doing full-strength practices and is playing during the Team USA mini-camp. The season isn't starting for another 2 and a half months. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be playing opening night.

Okay.... I haven't followed it that closely. I know that there's a significant risk of setbacks with Jones fracture injuries though.

Yeah. And they're just tempting Pop to rest some star on a nationally televised game.

Apparently the game before the pre-Christmas trip to Minnesota is a December 21 home game against Indiana:

"The next reunion comes on Dec. 21 in San Antonio, when the Pacers travel to Texas to face the Spurs and former teammate David West."
