View Full Version : Amazon Echo - why don't you do the obvious

So now Echo is able to communicate with other devices around the home so you can control your lights, thermostat, etc.
But why can't it do the one thing that I would have expected it to do right out of the box? Interact with Fire TV.

It doesn't have much of a purpose for me yet. Although I probably could get some more use from it. It has a decent sound so it's cool to be able to tell it to play a song or play list and it'll crank on. Or it'll keep a reminder list for you if you think of something you need to be reminded of. Ours is in the living room so I don't use it for an alarm.

For what it says it can do, it does pretty well. But it needs to do more. I suppose they are working on it.
