I'm in San Antonio for the weekend for a romantic getaway with my girlfriend. I've been looking at Yelp but need restaurant recommendations.

- Best non tourist trap Tex Mex

- Best restaurant in the $$-$$$ range. $100-ish for two people - Italian, steakhouse, cuisine doesn't really matter.

Mexican Manhattan if you're downtown has hands down the best mexican food for the price but parking can be difficult.

Go to the Pearl area. Some really good restaurants and cool places to hang out.

If she want's to eat down on on the river, you can't go wrong with Budro's. The tableside guac they make is awesome as is the blackened prime rib.

It's not bad. I prefer Acenar on the river. Same owner and similar menu but more variety. An old school Tex Mex place that locals go to is Pico de Gallo. Stay away from Mexican Manhattan. It was great in 1982.

for $$-$$$ range: Il Sogno, Cured, Silo, Boudro's, Boiler House

Average. Cascabel Mexican Patio half a block away is far superior, but they close at 4PM on weekdays, 3PM on Saturdays (closed Sundays). But it's also interior Mexican, not Tex Mex. Fucking great menu. If you're looking for lots of beef covered in cheese it's the wrong place, but their pork and chicken plates are outstanding.

Good timing, bud: this is "restaurant week"in SA. http://culinariasa.org/san-antonio/restaurant-week/ I recommend Boardwalk Bistro. Chef Carpenter is one of the few badasses in SA, and prices aren't absurd.

Yep Pearl area of town is pretty cool. I like the King William area as well, nice and relaxed plus The Guenther House has amazing breakfast.
