He got up on stage past security and menacingly approached her. Got to within several feet of her before he revealed his intentions weren't bad. How scared do you think she got for that split second when she wasn't sure why he was approaching her?
You can see the initial fear and shock here, as she turns around and sees him coming at her from behind. Her arms are trying to create space between him and her while he towers over her menacingly.

Luckily things ended well, Taylor got a friendly hug because Kobe's wife was in the audience. Notice how Taylor still keeps plenty of space between her hips and his during the hug. No chances taken.
