View Full Version : How much weight does Diaw gain, ideally?

I'm on the official timvp record wanting a good 30-40 pounds, for sake of argument let's call it 35 solid pounds of gains. How many pounds do yall want Diaw to gain? With Simmons and Fat Head Anderson off the bench, we need Diaw to be as big and dominant as he's ever been.

This isn't one of those E20/GiG threads where they discuss their individual gains, this is more of a gains thread focused on Diaw.

Let the discussion begin :smokin

he's already unguardable now and by far our only top player in his prime last season, why the fuck change?

the only person who can guard him is moon face trimming his minutes and trading all our system players for a player LITERALLY in his same position. moon face, everyone

Can one be a member of the Diaw 2.0 krew and still be a fan of the Franchise and/or other current players on the squad? If so, I'd like to join and spread the word...

Boris, along with the other Frenchie, was the main reason we didn't land a higher seed last year.

He was looking very sharp in the Africa vs World game, can't wait to watch him play this summer.

Diaw is never going to be big enough to overpower some guy who's 7' and 250-300 lbs. He shouldn't try. Instead he must use his cleverness and better mobility. I remember how bad he was at Charlotte a few years ago when he put on the poundage and don't want to see that Diaw on the Spurs. When he got here, he was re-energized mentally as a player, lost some weight and got in shape and became a solid Spur rotation member. That's the Diaw we need.

Haven't yall played NBA Street? 400 lbs isn't fat it just makes you really wide. Imagine the screens

Scary to think what he would have been like with an aggressive scorer's mentality. Big guys he takes off the dribble, small one's he schools them in the post, all while having ridiculous court vision.

I like him as he's been. Strong an heavy enough to back guys down but still agile enough to get by guys off the dribble that come out to chase him around the perimeter.

His increased girth makes him set better screens, get better rebound position, etc

Yep, I think a balance between the two is what makes Diaw so lethal. I'd still like him to lose a little bit more weight (I'm thinking around the weight he was at or a little less than what he weighed in the 2014 OKC series) which should help increase his speed and nimbleness to make him even more agile. Maybe add some muscle too so that he can add some more strength and power to that nimbleness.

I still would like to know what weight he was at last season. I think his most optimal weight he played at during his time on the Spurs so far was whatever he weighed late in the 2014 playoffs. I don't think he was ever at that playing weight all of last season. If he was, it didn't look like it to me at all.

The shot clock will have run out by the time the 400 pound guy will have made it out to the 3 point line

I say, if you're going to gain weight intentionally, go for it! Don't fool around, go for the record!

To get the record, and be the heaviest man ever, Diaw needs to gain approximately 1,151 lbs.

Diaw is perfect for the system at his current weight. He has enoungh mobility to defend on the perimeter, yet has the mass to back down opponents in the post. He gives the Spurs alot of versatility. If he were to gain weight he would likely lose quickness..

If he has to gain, I'm hoping it's of the grams/milligrams order of magnitude. Don't want him turning into Big Baby Davis. No wonder that guy has an ankle injury.
