Is there anyway they can do us a solid and trade for Matt Barnes, that way we can have a guaranteed entry into the 2nd round of the WC?

It's so cute when unimaginative Spurstalk posters glue themselves to someone else's stupid opinion and take it on as their own, then proceed to just use it ad infinitum whenever it suits them. I guess this is a bit fresher than Porker Porker Tony Porker fat lul.

Agreed, sometime you have to fight fire with fire, and let it all burn.

In all seriousness, how bad would Spurs fans be pissed off at Bud and the Hawks if us and them made it to the finals and they beat us?

It would super cool to play the Hawks in the playoffs. Love Bud and would be cool with whoever won. Spurs East vs Spurs West!

Ehhhh I can't call them Spurs East by any means, cool team but very overrated last year and won a ton of games early in a bad conference. They were swept by a depleted Cleveland team so they are not near the Spurs anything level IMO. They are a good team but not great.

They got swept by the Cavs with just Lebron James and the other two stars out, they are not making the finals.

Not near Irving or Love and HC without winning a damn game??? They are a overrated team, fools Gold like the Bulls. Cavs should have no problem making the finals this year again.

yep. Series reminded me of the 2001 between the Spurs and Lakers. One team had an amazing regular season relying on a flawed system of too much teamwork and outside shooting while the other consisted of star power and coasted most of the year but turned up the heat near the end of the season. Just like 2001, we all knew well in advance which team was truly better and more poised for a championship run and this reared its ugly head in the conference finals.

The Spurs didn't have a fully healthy Derek Anderson. He was a huge part of what the Spurs did and not having his penetration really hurt them in games 1 and 2. I disagree with you completely. Lakers still may have won the series, but going into those playoffs I thought it was going to be a 7 game series between the two teams. No one knew the Lakers were going to go on that kind of run through those playoffs.

Juwan Howard pretty much did the Spurs in that year. DA was San Antonio's 2nd leading scorer and they had no depth at the SG position. Once Anderson went down Kobe only had to contend with undersized Antonio Daniels with geriatric Terry Porter as his backup.

IIRC the Lakers were on like a 17 game winning streak (counting the end of the regular season) going into the WCF that year. They were unstoppable that spring after coasting through most of the regular season. It was the opposite of the previous year when they had a nearly perfect regular season and then almost got their asses handed to them multiple times in the playoffs.
