I know everybody is still jizzing their pants over the LMA and David West acquisition, but I'm really excited to see this guy in a Spurs jersey, especially since their back court is a bit thin. I don't know if this video has been posted or not, but it was uploaded a few days ago showcasing his highlights.

The video has some cool highlights of Ray McCallum hitting some clutch buzzer beaters. I also noticed he has really good pacing and timing at driving to the basket, and flashes of Tony Parker with the spin move. He's pretty good at passing to the wing defenders out of the pick and roll, and good at shooting the midrange for the pick and pop.

Already a better PG than Parker.

McCallum was an amazing pickup this summer. He'll take the #2 spot from Patty by mid season and he will be ready to step up to the #1 spot when Tony pulls his hamstring after the All Star break .

Not sure if he can take the #2 spot from Patty, they're both different types of players. If Spurs end up going small, I'm not surprised if they play both McCallum at PG and Mills at SG when TP and Ginobili need to sit out.

Where can I find highlights of his defense?

Try looking it up on youtube. I haven't found any defense videos of him so far though

I like him! I think a lot of spursfans will too. He is very athletic, more than CoJo. We will get to see plays in transition and dunks! I think the team needs this TBH. Tony and Manu are not the speedsters they used to be obviously.

He'll get shot happy and fuck up a fast break by clanking a 3 in transition and Pop will sit him for 4 games. Highlight videos always make players look better than they are. If you didn't know better you'd think the Kings won the ring last year.

His shot selection is iffy, but I can imagine the Spurs implementing him as a passer and slasher more than a shooter. This means he probably will never get the green light to make a 3 in transition EVER

Gladney to see you

He is more Austin Rivers than anything else it seems.

Of course. Pop wouldn't bench someone after giving them a green light.

I also think he is a nice addition to the team ... but highlight videos are what they are ... I remember Splitter regularly hitting jump shots in all his highlight videos ... jeez, even I could have one

People laughing don't seem to understand that Ray Mac is no doubt a better player. I think he'll take over the #2 PG by the all star

The conditions are ideal for our perimeter players to attack the basket on pick & roll/pop this year with the attention LMA & West force.

Switching or jumping a West / LMA pick is suicide and we wont see many hard hedges.

Whilst Parker and Manu will have the lions share of these plays, McCallum will also have opportunities and hopefully can take advantage.

He has a great physical profile (40 inch vert, fast ) and might be one of the best athletes we have on the team.

From video ive seen protects the ball well once he gets into the paint and uses his hops to his advantage when finishing showing good body control.

looking forward to seeing him play

He looks like a little more polished and athletic Patty Mills to me. I'm thrilled about this signing too
