Something about the rook just reminds me of a young Tim. Does anyone else get that vibe?

The Lakers follow in Boston's footsteps as far as drafting Timmy. Only difference is Lakers had a chance to draft the guy, Boston was hoping to get the number 1 pick. So in essence, Lakers look worse

Nah

The guy that reminds me Timmy the most OFFENSIVELY is Brook Lopez. His post game is absolutely great to watch, much like Timmy's. Okafor reminds me Al Jefferson tbh

Okafor should be great big man. I live in ACC land, and got see Tim play a lot when he was at Wake. I didn't watch a lot of Duke games this year, but enough to know that Okafor should have been the 1# pick. He can handle the ball incredibly well for his size, and really knows how to use his body. I can kind of see maybe Towns in front of him maybe, I wouldn't have, but the Lakers are fools for passing on him.

That has always been my first thought- Al Jefferson. Tim has always been a great two way player- So far, I'm not sure Okafor will be even an above average defensive player.

Brook Lopez is a slowpoke.

Timmy was actually very athletic early on. :lol

Tim also stayed in college a lot longer. Okafor always looks uncoordinated to me and much slower than a young Duncan. It is unlikely and I doubt he gets to Tim's output level, as Tim is a top 5 all time player. Maybe they look similar in the face but that's where it ends for me currently.

Tim is like AD only little less athleticism but better D.

Timmy and Maybe Garnet are the only two players in the last 50 years whose defense is what really won them MVP.

People forget timmy averaged like 40minutes a game barely touching the 23ppg mark sometimes..same with KG. They were absolute beast in the defensive end.

You can't really compare timmy to today's players.

Didn't your chink ass say Tim moved like a tree trunk standing in the paint and blocking Kawhi from seeing the rim? :lmao

Looks wise Okafor does look a little like Timmy but game wise maybe not. I see Okafor being great offensively but he's defense will need work. Timmy was a complete package when he came to the nba.

Russell is a scrub.

Timmy was arguably the best defensive big in the early 00 era that relied on bigs.

It's stupid that he hasn't won DPOY

Porzingis as a young and such tall and long player with great mobility, technique and natural ability has much more potential as a two way player that reminds Tim...

I didn't meant he reminds Tim now, you smartass, but with the right devolpment he has the mold and potential to be great inside outside, two way player that could remind Tim much more than Okafor or if you want any young prospect that came to the league in recent history...

I think he will be a 20-10 player but will be similar to AL Jefferson. It was still stupid for the Lakers to pass on a 20-10 player since those guys are rare commodities.

Okafor is a more athletic version of Greg Monroe than Tim. Dude is a mediocre defensive rebounder/shot blocker & has slow feet on defense.

Maybe, some of his ability to move with the ball well around the elbow and the wings. On the post and defense though, no. He doesn't have the length and he'll probably have issues with stamina.

Brook reminds me very little of Tim.

Prime Duncan was one of the GOAT big men passers. LLopez is one of the worst passers in the league.

A late-prime Tim (04-08) reminds me more of Brad Daugherty, though obviously he was better.

Add in blocked shots and rebounds too, Lopez is not near him on that end of things either. I know he was talking offensive end though but had to throw that in there talking overall game.

Okafor is an undersized center who probably wouldn't make an all-star game in a strong big man era. As it is, he may get a few all star selections before it's said and done.

Brook reminds me Duncan when it comes to POST MOVES, not other aspects. I should have narrowed it down to POST PLAY, so my bad. That's where I see them similar somehow.

There isn't anyone really similar overall to Tim Duncan in the league atm. I'm not even sure if we will ever see a guy similar to him. Too hard to be that fundamental and that good on both ends.

Everybody's said that. But everybody said that about Dwight Howard (no idea why, as he's completely different) and Greg Oden (lulz).
