I dunno if this is Club forum worthy or Spurs forum worthy, but it does have to do with the Spurs, sorta. I am most likely getting some tickets to the Spurs-Heat game on Dec 7. The cost of the game tickets and plane tickets are gonna leave us with very little to use for a place to stay. We will most likely stay for at least 2 days in SA. Anyone know a cheap hotel/motel? It will probably be just me and a coworker (who is a HUGE Shaq fan). Maybe one more person. So A 2 bed room will be fine. Anyone got any links or phone numbers to places?

Thanks,
Peace

Micro-tels are good and cheap.....
or the InTown suites... when we 1st moved to SA we stayed there for a week @ $139 untill our apt. was ready.

just stay away from downtown.. hotel prices down there are premium. But if you stay anywhere on 410 or up 281 or I-10 you'll save big bucks!

Do you have a rental car?

Are you trying to stay somewhere very near the SBC Center?

We are going to rent a car. We wanna stay close, but the price is more important than location. We both are trying to get more hours though. But I have like no money. I have a lot of things to pay. :lol I am hoping by that time we will be able to get a decent hotel room.

I too am looking at coming in from SoCal for either the season opener or the Heat game. Do any of you who attend the games meet before, during or after the games? I know you have get togethers to watch on TV at times. It would be nice to meet some of the posters who live in the city and might be going to these games.

there is an incredibly cheap motel on S Zarzamora near where I work. Looks about as seedy as humanly possible. If interested, I'll get the info for you.

A group of us usually meet at halftime in the main lobby of the SBC Center. Since you guys are all coming from out of town, maybe we can arrange a postgame GTG somewhere.

If that works out great. Should have the plans firmed up by next week. I realize though that I will be on vacation and both games are during the week for others.

There's a Rodeway Inn on Austin Highway, across from the Thai restaurant with the big Mexican fan palms out front.
Just been completely re-furnished and re-decorated about 18 months ago.
Ethernet Internet access in the rooms.
I found it very clean and odor free.
$60/night for 2 dbl beds.

There's a Best Western on Commerce just across Sunset Station. Also, a Red Roof Inn just off 37.

hotwire.com - cheapest hotels online.. wont give you the name of the place til its booked but will give you the general location and number of stars the location is rated. Found it was cheaper than orbitz, hotel.com and all others easily. The reason its cheaper is because the establishments have anonymity until the room is charged. I have the La Quinta off 35 and Eisenhauer @ 44 sumthin a night.

Check the hotels on Austin Highway. Tell them you want to buy 24 hours.

I use priceline.com. I could usually get a 3 star in NW, Airport or downtown for $39 in the offseason. 2 stars for $29. My friend requested 4 stars in NW and Sea World areas and got the Hyatt Hill Country Resort for $39 last year!

Dre, how much are you looking to spend (your price ceiling) and where would your prefer to stay? Closer to downtown, closer to the arena, or closer to the site of a potential get together (this helps take into account driving after potentially a few drinks)?

hey Dre,I don't know how much "cheap" is for you but I am going to recommend inexpensive for you but still nice. Hot continental breakfast, clean rooms and beds.Overall great service for a small hotel.

Best Western La Posada Ana Inn on Jones Maltsberger Rd 210/342-1400

SBC is about 5-7 miles East heading towards Austin. Its all highway.

I believe its three of you so you can get a double bed room for about $59. You have to think about the HOT BREAKFAST part!!! If all of you go to an IHOP restaurant for breakfast the whole ticket for three might come from $20 to $30 so you are already saving at Posada on the breakfast!

the place is super clean! You also have the North Star Mall nearby which in my opinion is way better than the River Center Mall downtown.

check it out.
