Grizzlies at full strength = Spurs sweep, average margin +10
Grizzlies injured = Spurs sweep, average margin +30

That's all the difference that makes.

Not like Memphis can play the injury card now since back in2011 the Spurs were fucked. Tim and Manu were badly hobbled with injuries themselves.

Some of you guys forget the term back door sweep. It's happened and could happen. You never know....gasol could be ready. Conley looked fine.

Joerger look defeated tonight at his post game conference like their season is over or we came back from like 40 points and won. If we win big again Tuesday, I think this series is over this weekend. Originally picked Spurs in 5 also.

Spurs are winning in 4, there isnt even a fucking question about it, anything less than a 10+ point win in each game would be a disgrace

Yes, the series is over, our second string would sweep them. Think about how good Carter played tonight, if he doesnt shoot the lights out and keep them close, that couldve been a 40+ point blowout, they were actually quite fortunate it didnt get uglier

During the game, the announcers said that by making the playoffs, the Griz got to keep their first round pick this year. Did I misunderstand that? It seems backwards for a protected pick.

Barnes just said "no other team could lose their two best players, trade away two starters, and lose back up C and PG and do what they did this year"

So... Spurs without Kawhi & LaMarcus, Green and Duncan, Boris and Mills... how would they go?

If the Grizzlies miss the playoffs this year, and don't then finish in the top five in the lottery, that pick goes to Denver. If they make the playoffs, they keep the pick this year, and likely give it to Denver next year unless the pick is in the top five. Ideally, Memphis makes the playoffs this year, keeps the pick, has a better year next year and gives Denver a pick in the mid-20s.

The Spurs may not beat them right now (even though I think they would), but they'd kick the shit out of them if Kawhi were healthy. They're not better than last year (when they were beating Houston and GS multiple times); they're just playing above their heads.

I agree that the Spurs would beat them (and prolly in 5 with Kawhi provided the rest of the team doesn't shit the bed like last year), but I think they are better than last year by a good bit. They no longer have fossils on their roster like Tony Allen and ZBO while getting more ball handlers in Evans and Chalmers on top of their new rookie who looks good and more experience for Ennis who had his moments against the Spurs last year.

they already gave fits to the Spurs last regular season at any rate and the first round against them was no cake even with Kawhi and no one on that team who could guard him. Marc Gasol defends well and their frontcourt at times took Aldridge out of his game... Pau didn't play well against them either and the way Pau is looking right now...
It's one of those teams where Kawhi has to dominate (and he will) and Dijon probably should keep Conley working to tire him out some. I am not scared but one should show respect and not underestimate them. Pau Gasol playing the way he's playing right now will sink the team against them.

But the Clips' woes are primarily due to injury - which I kind of regret. I was very curious to see how the team would fare after the departure of CP3 and the addition of Beverly, et al.

Having a centerpiece that is injury prone (aside of Blake, Anthony Davis also comes to mind) is the kiss of death. When you add to that the loss to injury of key roleplayers.. then it's the lottery.

Guys take the team's record for granted failing to see how all these other teams become flat out lottery bound if they suffer an injury to their centerpiece and a key roleplayer. Kawhi and Tony being out for the Spurs was no picnic. They easily could have regressed to look like they did in the WCF with Aldridge overwhelmed and unable to carry the team on his own and everyone else disappearing with no leadership. They have had some games like that this season, but overall have done very well all things considered. The schedule is about to get a lot tougher but luckily Kawhi is finally going to be back soon. Like Pop says, no one is going to feel sorry for you that you have injuries.

For those franchises, time to clean up house, and take this season as an unintentional tank like when Robinson went down, hope to draft well next year. It's still early in the season though.
