View Full Version : How was Diaw in Eurobasket, tbh?

Only watched the Spain game, and he looked meh... cursory look at the stats show very good FG%, but meager rebounds/assists. I suspect the rebounds situation was expected playing next to Gobert.

People that watched more games, how did he look throughout the competition overall?

I only watched the knock out stages but Diaw was really underwhelming.

Lazy defense and offensively he couldn't do a whole lot with Gobert on the lane. He was much better offensively with Lavergne, but defensively, he was still lazy on rotations and overall poor.

All of France was pretty underwhelming outside of Gobert and De Colo tbh, tho he had a couple big games early on in the tournament.

I still think Boris is critical for us... when he's motivated, we're a different team...

he did good compared to porker who couldn't get to the hoop against euro dudes who are part time taxi drivers or accountants and shit

Boris was our best post player last year, don't think many people appreciate this man

He was not as aggressive, did his usual stuff posting up or attacking looking to pass rather than score (and nobody does that better). His three point shot is still absent. He behaved as team captain, guiding younger players and seemed more like the coach's extension on the court than Parker. Overall, his pure basketball play at Eurobasket was average.

Still smartest player out there most times. I don't think he fits in well in France cause gobert and LaVerne the other big men are awful at catching the ball and positioning.

He's ok imo

He was OK but was nothing like Boris 2.0, he was hesitant, often left without an option and had to jack Nowitsky-like turn around Js. Wasn't helped by having to play with bigs with nothing between their ears offensively or shooters who couldn't shoot, bar De Colo. Defensively well below average.

He didn't have any chemistry w/ the any of the bigs & Porker/Batum/Nando were handling the ball thus he didn't get enough touches to be a playmaker.
