My preview
It's been a long summer, as the Jimmer thread clearly exemplifies, but Spurs basketball is upon us again! Exciting times. I wrote a 1000 words piece breaking down interesting matchups and subplots in this game (like Parker vs Rondo), but unfortunately Pop decided to rest the big 3 + Diaw and apparently himself (plus I hit the wrong button and lost the entire thing), so scratch that, and let's revisit a bit what's at stake in this particular game.

Now, some people will claim that preseason games don't matter, but this is actually a pivotal game for this Spurs team and the franchise. New additions like LMA and West are making their debut, but also a sonic wave of young, fresh, hip, pimple faced newcomers will be available and fighting for a roster spot. If you're just looking for the same old boring Spurs, there's Matt Bonner. He's just there. It's been said that you know greatness when you see it. So we should see Spurs greatness in this game. And if we don't, it's not too late to tank, tbh. That's why this game has the potential to make or break our season, so you don't really want to miss out.

A few words about our opponents. Some good players in Damascus Cousins, Rudy Faggot (as dabom would say), Darren Collison, McLemore and our own Marco Belinelli and James Anderson. A few has been in Rondo and Butler. After that, nothing worth mentioning. Projected to be a cute little team fighting hard not to finish last in the West.

Been in IT for a long, long time and I've found that NoScript (Firefox) and NotScript (Chrome) are the best as nothing will load unless you allow it and it uses no resources at all. It blocks each pages elements and linked pages & scripts (where the viruses get you) individually and let's you allow them one by one.

The only trick is guessing which element is the stream you are trying to watch but it's usually pretty obvious from the name of the element.

Not saying it works awesome on pron sites but it works awesome on pron sites.

What does Ghostery do exactly? I've heard of it but never really used it before. Also, is it something that you have to setup yourself or can you just install it and use it like AdBlock that already kind of preset? NBA league pass website says the game is watchable online. Literally just called Time Warner and the guy won't let me cancel my auto-renewel and sign up for it today. So when I go to log in through Time Warner on the NBA's website, it shows that I don't have an account. I don't do illegal streams and although $199 is expensive, for how many games I watch I feel it is easily a value. Never have had major problems. Sometimes online isn't great but that's more about the device/connection IMO.

That's a different story. If you live in SA, it blacks out the Spurs games locally (since you can watch them on local cable). So if you are getting for SA games and you live in SA it won't work. But since you can watch SA on cable - you don't need LP for SA.

You get to watch all NBA games including online/phone when you get LP (except nationally televised games)

However, I do run into several problems each year with it. I live in Mississippi and we get Fox Sports South as our "local" broadcast....and that channel here is so unreliable. They play Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, and New Orleans Pelicans games on it. You never know which one either. The guide might say that the Spurs vs. Grizzlies game is coming on, but they'll end up showing an Atlanta game. And since NBALP blacks out those three teams for me...I might not get a chance to see the Spurs play. (They'll even show a Nashville Predators hockey game sometimes instead)

I'd say I get screwed about 5 times each year with NBALP....but it's well worth the $200.00 to me.

What does Ghostery do exactly? I've heard of it but never really used it before. Also, is it something that you have to setup yourself or can you just install it and use it like AdBlock that already kind of preset? I also switched over to uBlock a few months ago as people said it's a bit lighter on resources than AdBlockPlus.

It blocks scripts from running automatically. You just install it and let it go, but it does break some sites that are heavy on javascript.. Also doesn't allow trackers
