Did Strong save his job today?
This is a very good question. For this year I would say yes. This is the most important game on our schedule by far. The fact that we had been destroyed by ND and TCU, and looking helpless while at it, is not rectified by close games against Cal and OK St IMO because lack of discipline was obvious in those close losses as well.
Today showed we do have some talent and even some depth. So getting this team to actually win a game without the obvious lack of discipline was very big. We played without the huge errors and had by far the most physical display we have had all year. With a young, divided team, this was important.
Aside:
Djohn is like Clipper Nation, both are permanent downers. Some people thrive when things go bad. If something is not wrong, they will seek out bad news. True UT fans have seen horrid coaching and teams yet stick with it. But this is a Spurs board, and the Spurs are a very hard act to follow.

Oklahoma was 8-5 in 2014, so far in 2015 they had beaten nobody. Texas beating this team, no real preview of coming attractions.
But, they could win three of their remaining games, maybe four.

Or they could win them all. Texas is a young team, and now they have something to build on. They have a reason to smile and some confidence in themselves, and their coaches. This team should be 4-2, not 2-4. KSU and WVU will be tough games, but winnable games. Every other game should be a win until they face Baylor. If they take care of business and come into Waco with the same 4 losses I expect they will beat baylor's ass.
The young pups are starting to grow up, and when they do, they are going to be a scary good team.

I think it's a mistake to take a week off after Oklahoma. They need to get back out there now.
They could go 4-1 maybe 5-0 the next five weeks. Slow down on them beating Baylor, way too early to be going there now.
