View Full Version : NBA: What's the point of regular season games in England?

I was watching the Hornets and Clippers preseason game in Shenzhen, China on NBATV. It got me thinking about why doesn't the NBA cash in on Chinese people's love of basketball and axe games in England and have a regular season game in China instead? When I was watching that game, the Chinese fans were excited every time Jeremy Lin touched the ball. They love basketball. Do British people actually like basketball? It just seems dumb to me. I also see that there is a regular season game in Mexico. Do Mexicans even like basketball?

I just don't get why you have games in countries in which the citizens don't like the sport. Countries like China, Brazil, Italy, Turkey, and Greece seem like better choices.

The NBA has already conquered the Chinese market so they are focusing their resource on other untapped markets such as England.

Agree, it'd take nearly a week for players to fully recover from the jet lag caused by the longs travel from US to China and then back home, and playing just one game in 7 days would result in at least 20 back-to-backs in order to accommodate the 82 games in a season. Niggas would be exhausted by the time the playoffs begin, tbh.
