Who will lead the bench in scoring? And will we have any realistic 6th man contenders?

For what it is worth, I think it'll be Patty, and we will share the wealth too much to have any serious 6th man contenders.

i'd say its between west and patty, but manu has looked surprisingly good in the preseason

Manu already said his minutes is going down this year. I expect Parker's minutes to go down as well...

most likely Patty..but who knows...really depends on minutes as the bench relies on ball movement to get points unlike the starters that rely on Leonard and Aldridge to score points..

Mills will average the third/fourth most on the team imo.

Patty if he can go back to 2014 form. If not, assuming manu is healthy then him. Maybe West idk. It'll probably be pretty even with alternating large contributions.

Agree with you. A healthy Patty can string enough high scoring games to earn it.

Manu looks great, but as always, rest and minutes management will give opportunities to other guys.

No 6th man, as there won't be as single dominant player that everyone else will play around.

I do think Kyle can break out, but not a scorer, rather he will be in a lot of line-ups that will outscore others, particularly if he's shooting his 3 well from the corner. I think he is just that versatile that he will not do his damage by being a dominant scorer, he will just allow the team to get different looks.

I voted Manu ... but just because he plays much better in PS than Patty is IMO ... but in the end we need Patty to produce this season!

Boris is a player that can occasionally dominate a game without scoring. I think Kyle is cut from the same cloth and headed down that path. Remember, Kyle is still very young, he's only going to get better!:toast

Manu looked amazing, West is a perfect fit but he's still adapting to the new system...I'd pick Patty as bench leading scoring.

My pick is still Manu. I still think he can score 10-12 per game even in limited minutes.
My order is Manu, West, Patty (it will be very close between the 3) and my dark horse pick, Anderson.

I think Anderson will be very useful off the bench, but in other ways than scoring. Manu and especially Patty will both have the occasional explosive game where they score in bunches, and inch up their average ahead of Boris and West But on a game by game basis I would imagine it will be pretty balanced.

I picked Boris, just because I think he's so versatile and relatively durable he'll get a lot of minutes. But, he's often a reluctant scorer. I think Patty is a better answer as long as he stays healthy. I don't think Manu will play enough minutes, but he will probably lead in points and bruises per minute off the bench.

Our bench has...

Former all-star, 6th man of the year, and future HOFer...Manu
Former all-star...David West
Former NBA Most Improved...Boris
"This Man Can Shoot"...Patty
And a rapidly improving, SL MVP, Kyle

A little old in places, a little young with KA, but certainly not bad at all...Collective IQ is like a basketball M.I.T. (Which should impress all the civil engineers on this board!)

I agree Anderson will be more useful in other ways. I do think he's capable of some time in his career averaging 14-16 points. Hopefully, we'll see flashes of that this season.

Boris is amazing, when he's fully engaged. He just gives you whatever you need whether it be points, assists or rebounds, but he's the type of guy who can score 20 one night and nothing the next. Not that I'm complaining about him...that's just Boris.

I actually think West is going to have a somewhat resurgent year. Not that he's going to score 18+, I just believe he will be more efficient and enjoy the game more playing with the Spurs.

Agree on all points :toast(though we won't see 14-16 from KA this year).

Patty will probably be at 10-12ppg off the bench. I can see Manu at 9.5 or 10. I don't think anyone else will be higher than that

This should not be a subject to talk about, the mindset should be how to win a title not focus on who score more points...

Mr Bones

I'd guess Patty because scoring is his strength, whereas Boris, Manu, and West can contribute without scoring.... plus Patty's in the position to pick up the most extra minutes in the event of injuries to either Parker, Manu, McCallum, or Danny Green...

I'm going to go with Kyle. Just the fact that he has a knack at getting to the line. I could see him averaging 8-10 off the bench.

Patty Mills for sure.

I expect Diaw to coast a lot, Manu will get a couple of nights off and very limited minutes. I'm not confident enough in Kyle's offense yet to think he will be leading the bench. West, maybe. But I see the team using Patty more than David this season

Raven

obviously manu

Chinook
10-19-2015, 05:31 PM
I'd say Mills in terms of aggregate points. He's the only guy who isn't at risk to lose time to another player. Manu will be rested; Anderson is at the mercy of Kawhi, Green and LMA for minutes; West and Diaw may lose time if Boban is needed or if Anderson proves worthy of PF minutes.

Dunno about PPG. Probably Mills. Could see Anderson get pp36 though. He is a good scorer and will be better with a bench next to him.

Voted Manu but wouldn't mind Tony tbh. Patty a close three.
