The max is going up so even if he wasn't a max player he would've got the max.

If he was not a max player then he sure as hell in the next year or so will become one IMO because all I see is growth. He deserved the Max as he will earn it IMHO.

Yeah, certain people, such as TGY, don't have very good takes on basketball tbh

I noticed that the same people that say Kawhi isn't a max player, are the same people denying that Parker has been a liability. They take it to heart when it is addressed.

When he performs in clutch is when he deserves max. Yes he is a good player, but i still see vet min Duncan carrying him when the chit hits the fan.

Even in the preseason he's still inconsistent. He has a shit game against the Hawks then followed by a good game against the Pistons. Until Kawhi learns to be consistent he won't be max level type of player.

We all know that the problem with him is mainly mental thoughnes and leadership, last playoff when it was first time the pressure was on him needed to be a main guy with other team focus on him he failed big time and shit in his pants against Matt Barnes... Nothing has changes still...

As of now they were right.

For us, those who didnīt think he wasnīt a max player. Those Players must show they worth in the playoffs and with the pressure of doing it. (Not like in 2014 where Tim and Manu carried the burden and ley Kawhi shine in the last 2 games)

In that regard Leonard has yet to show if he is a max player or not. For now, Barnes said a big NO.

But for sure, and i invite you to review all my post, i am hoping i am very wrong and he can win the MVP or whatever it takes for the Spurs to get 6th.

It was in hindsight a good move to give Kawhi the max (worth it or not) because it wonīt really be a "max" in years to come due to the new scale contracts.

Yep. If Kobe, Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams are the benchmark, there are a lot of max players in the league.

But equally ridiculous would be the argument that Leonard was given his contract based on what he had done rather than on his potential. If KL plays this contract out and never makes an all-star team, is he still a "max" player?

Good point. More than that, it was a no-brainer because he's a constantly-improving player with a great work ethic, he's a solid citizen, he wants to play in San Antonio, and at the time they gave him the contract, the Spurs had never signed a top free agent. In a world where there's a GM ready to throw max money at almost any warm body that's available, you just don't let a Kawhi Leonard go for almost any reason.

Sure, as long as he can give us a ring.

Kawhi and Aldridge were not far off from Westbrook and Durant this series. Everyone else was tremendously outplayed by the rest of the Thunder. Thats where the series was lost. Don't pin it on Aldridge (those first two games should have put the Spurs out to a 2-0 lead) or Kawhi. Not saying Duncan or Green either. Just about everyone else though.
