The Spurs outscored the Sacramento Kings 19-17 on the break in the exhibition opener, but have been bested in that category by the rest of their opponents throughout the preseason. Opponents have outscored San Antonio 82-65 through the first four games of the preseason.

Pop makes a good point, but obviously preseason games are skewed by all the minutes allocated to "scrubs" who try to go for offensive rebounds instead of getting back on defense. The Miami game was the worst in that category. The whole 4th Q was a brick by the Spurs and a transition basket by the Heat. It was horrendous.

No, but the team dynamic has shifted, and he will need to build chemistry on that as well. He and Tony used to have an almost psychic link when Parker was a dominant force. Danny always knew where to slide, and Tony always knew where to look. It was a crazy synergistic dynamic that helped both take off, since teams really couldn't guard either when they worked together. Danny and Kawhi have pretty good chemistry, but not to that level. And he and LMA don't have it at all. Talent-wise, the SL is about as good as any in the league, but chemistry makes the difference, and they're not there yet.
