Heard is an amazing talent and quite electrifying....but dammit, he has started a handful of games already and he is still making the same boneheaded mistakes.

1. When he rolls out of the pocket, no one is open, and no room to run, he continues to run out of bounds instead of throwing it out of bounds beyond the LOS.
2. When he running in the open field, he either slides or runs out of bounds just shy of the marker, instead of getting the 1st down and then giving himself up.
3. He stares down his initial target, and only throws to the first read.

All 3 of these issues can be corrected. The first two should have already been addressed and corrected. The last one gets corrected with reps in practice and in games. It takes young QBs, especially non-pure pocket passers a little bit of time to master their reads.

I would like to see more play action now that we are running the ball effectively. I think it would really help Heard. We also need more quick and intermediate slants in our arsenal, especially when the yardage to gain is 4-8 yds. This is on Norvell to address.

Also, stop acting like Dallas and running the ball every first down. It was nice in the 2nd half to see a couple of first down throws. It keeps the defense honest. I loved the 3rd down pass play by Swoopes. I was calling for a pass, cause it is almost always a run when he is in there. We need to change things up a bit and not be so predictable.

I am enjoying this two game winning streak. 3-4 is not so bad, considering all we have been through, but it is frustrating knowing that we could easily be 5-2. We need to go into Iowa St. and continue to run the ball like we have been. I see no reason why we can't beat Iowa St., TT, WVU, and Kansas, even if we lose to Baylor....going 6-1 to close out the year....Finishing at 7-5 and ending with a guaranteed winning season.

If I was an Alabama fan (or UT fan like you) I'm sure I'd see it your way. But, my team normally always finishes last or next to last in it's own division. Once in a blue moon, we jump up to the 2nd or 3rd spot in the SEC West.

Now I realize why our coaches are trying to sign 5-6 DB's this year. Our safeties are garbage. Jamal Adams has been a huge disappointment this year. He has 3 ints but gets lost in coverage all the damn time. Need Mills and White to be healthy for the stretch run or we don't stand a chance.
