This is an interesting topic, with Pop now at the helm of the 2017-2020 USA BBALL TEAM, does that mean that Pop sharing some of his “Spurs Way Familia” would gradually brainwash and lure some of the guys increasing the likelihood of new talented FAs playing with the Spurs?

When reporters asked Kevin Durant about it (he didn't know), his answer:

He got it? Oh, he did? Oh, that’ll be tight.
Hopefully I can play past next summer for him.
I’m a huge fan of Coach Pop.

Doubtful. SA will still be a small market, and the salary cap will always be the salary cap.

The only influence it may have is that players would get a taste for playing with Pop and may come to like it...but I feel like most respected players already want to play for Pop as it is

Don't think so. They will go after the money.

He's going to be halfway out the door by the time he coaches his first Olympics.

No..i really doubt we have another off-season like this..In normal situations, we wouldn't even get David West at the prize we got.Look it is going to take something deeply personal for a top tier star in his prime to come here..It was a close call even with legend like TD is still active, let alone when he is gone and the team drops down to non-elite title contender..Here is what truly brought LMA here: it is a family affair first and for most..

Don't think so.
Winning a couple more 'Ships with a stacked roster would inspire more then the USA Basketball noise.

Win a ship in 16 and that will inspire some quality free agents to look at SA....

Sucks for team USA... all Spurs associates ever do is bring home the bronze.

This. I think that will really cut into any clandestine recruitment at the Olympics. But maybe in summer 2017, who knows?

I immediately voided my bowels then passed out when I first read this post. That would break the internets and the NBA

Maybe some bordeline stars, who wants to get to that roster. I doubt Durant will go here, or any other 30mil freeagent

If San Antonio is a small market what do you call OKC?

What do you mean respected players? The NBA is full of primadonnas who might dislike Pop coaching team USA privately.

Durant was drafted there. No way, he`ll sign there if he had choice
