Man oh man, fatnecks, the Lakeshow is back!!!
From a pure basketball standpoint, this roster is built perfectly. We have a lock down paint anchor in Roy Hibbert, who looks to be in the best shape of his life and more motivated than ever. He absolutely shut down the overrated Karl Anthony Towns last night and patrolled the paint like a Spurfan patrols the donut shop: With hunger and ferocity.
And then there's Randle. Not just Charles Barkley 2.0, he's Charles Barkley 5.0. I expected the cat to get arrive at Staples in Doc Brown's Delorean. This guy is that cutting edge at the PF position. Never seen anything like him. Makes Blake Griffin look obsolete. KG had fear in his eyes like Spurfan fears diets going up against this man.
Clarkson is beginning where he left off last season, leaving defenders in his dust, and looking more and more like Russell Westbrook every time I watch him.
D'Angelo orchestrated the offense beautifully. Never forced and made all the right decisions. Kid looks like a 15 year vet out there.
And the Mamba. Vino. The Ageless one. 24 points on opening night against the legendary defense of Tayshaun Prince at his age and miles is just mind-boggling. Did Jim even score last night? I expect Kobe to make an MVP push this season. He looks that good.
And that bench! Our 2nd unit could make the playoffs in the East. We got prime Steve Nash reborn. Sweet Lou Williams. And the Swaggy One. If the starters ever start to lag, this bench can revive things like a Nitroglycerin tab revives a Spurfan's heartbeat.
"But you lost!"
Simply a classy gesture for Flip. When we "tried" we were beating a very talented, athletic and hungry Wolves team by 20. Who realistically can match up with this team? We have zero weaknesses.
Yeah, time to say it.
