I watched most of the second half. Houston looked atrocious. At one point they managed to cut the deficit down to 8, I think, and within minutes the Warriors had pushed it back to 16 with Curry and Thompson on the bench. Harden was bricking shots off the dribble, running the offense through himself, and Houston's entire response to adversity was to fire up threes. No offensive cohesion. They looked Game-4-in-a-0-3-series-against-a-juggernaut gassed. I'm sure the Rockets will turn things around and be competitive in the Western race, but holy shit they looked abysmal tonight. Their -20 point differential is well deserved after these two games.

Houston's regular season will be fine, but they're not getting back to the WCF. McHale is too garbage of a coach, Harden, while talented, is too hot/cold and showboat-oriented to truly lead a team to the Finals, and their role players are pieced together in a system that prioritizes incoherent 3-point shooting from transition offense, which just doesn't win you 16 playoff games. Especially not coming out of the West.

LAC were definitely better than the Spurs last year. Spurs were struggling to get a good lead against the Clips even in the few games where Paul/Blake struggled up until halftime and when Paul was out for 10-15 minutes during Game 7.

McHale isn't a great coach but when you have a mental midget standing tall at the 5 and two ball dominant guards at the 1 and 2 in your starting lineup, you're destined to struggle offensively. The Roc's woes are only exacerbated by the fact that last year's MVP runner up can't knock down open shots (12-54 - 2 pointers , 3-32 - 3 pointers). Neither Lawson or Harden play a lick of defense so its almost counterproductive to have them both on the court at the same time. Ty Lawson should be coming off the bench. D-Howard, while highly overrated offensively, can be a defensive monster when he wants to be but most of the time, he's just a cancerous presence.
