Hope it's okay that I post this question again... In that commercial, could anyone please explain to me what do those boat names mean? I'm a foreign spurs fan, wanting to translate these commercials to Chinese... but couldn't understand at all what's pun or reference behind those names, like "manu-ray", "laSharkus", "Kawhi knot" and "hoop line sinker"? I know "hoop line sinker" is similar to "hook line sinker", is this the the link?

would appreciate your help! :toast

Manu Ray is a play on a manta ray, I would think.

Kawhi knot is almost certainly a pun of "why not?"

LaSharkus is just putting an ocean-related word in Aldridge's first name.

Kawhi Knot is a special type of knot sailors use sometimes. They avoid using it most of the time as it is notorious for injuring fingers.

Thanks for the help! I read "Kawhi Knot" like 20+ times before I realise there's something there hahaha

I see! I just realised that "kawhi knot" board was full of rope-like patterns~~ So I guess it's to do with both rope knots and ”why-not“~~
