View Full Version : Return the favor to the Sauds!

NeoConIV

The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor.

An interesting thought might be to boycott their GAS.

Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting
more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy
from gas companies that don't import their oil from
the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that
every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money
to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my
friends.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know
which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and
which major companies import Middle Eastern oil.

IMPORTERS:

Shell............................. 205,742,000 barrels

Chevron/Texaco............. 144,332,000 barrels

Exxon /Mobil................. 130,082,000 barrels

Marathon/Speedway....... 117,740,000 barrels

Amoco.......................... 62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount
to over $18 BILLION! Note: The price of oil is now
over $50/barrel- - -increasing the take to about $30
Billion!!!!!

Here are some large companies that do not import
Middle Eastern oil:

Citgo....................... 0 barrels

Sunoco................... 0 barrels

Conoco.................. 0 barrels

Sinclair.................... 0 barrels

BP/Phillips................ 0 barrels

Hess........................ 0 barrels

ARC0..................... 0 barrels

All of this information is available from the
Department of Energy and each is required to state
where they get their oil and how much they are
importing.

-----------------------------

Some of you may have seen this already, it's making the email rounds.

Very interesting to say the least. It's Conoco for me from now on. :hat

Since when are Saudis trying to kill Americans?

I'm just not sure why we'd boycott Saudi Arabia when they just agreed to a WTO trade deal with the United States on Friday in which they'll begin importing even more U.S. goods.

They found out the bombers in London were from that country, and that some of the 9/11 was from there also. Plus they found out Alkada troops train in that country also. I got all this info in the politicle forum.

Nope, nothing to do with skin color.
But if I have a choice, a choice that I'm now aware of, to either give money to Saudi Arabia who still funnels millions to radical Wahabi brands of madrassas(the freaking SOURCE of islamo fascism for crying out loud), preaching hatred against Jews and Christians, or some other oil producing country....

So, you admit that what you posted was wrong about Saudia Arabia boycotting US goods and that you didn't know about the recent WTO trade deal with the U.S.?

NeoConIV

I do admit I did not know they will now allow a token amount of American imports, but that issue is completely tertiary to islamo fascism which has a palacial home in Saudi Arabia. Hey, give money to Saudi Arabia if you want, I'm just throwing this out there!

They have always been allowing U.S. imports and have a good relationship with U.S. in that regard. They agree now to increase U.S. imports (more agricultural, etc) and will also now allow imports from Israel.

I don't know why anyone is defending the Saudi Government...It is the most brutal and opressive in the Middle East and their womens rights are nil.

Men and Women go to school in separate classes at their Universities.
Women are not allowed to drive.
A man can divorce a woman without any legalities being involved. He can just say he's divorcing her and drop her flat.
Women have severely limited career opportunities.
They are not allowed to leave their houses without a hijab, and I believe without male escort.
Men are allowed to have up to 4 wives and are allowed to marry other races and religions. Women are only allowed to marry 1 muslim man.
If the event of a divorce a woman only gets custody of the child until the age of 7(if she gets custody at all) and she gets only 3 months worth of child support.
Women that go there from other countries are often not allowed to leave and are bought and sold as slaves with virtually no rights.
This means they often get put in jail if they are raped and bring it to the authorities.

And that's just scratching the surface.

We can't go to war with Saudi Arabia...basically becausse it is a peacful country with regards to it's neighbors it is also the heart of Islam...plus it would send the world into a total economic collapse.

But Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are the countries whose rampant unemployment, out of control population explosion and abject poverty get transformed into the absolute most radical form of Islam.

It worked for a while but now that Radical Islam is targeting the Ruling Family...it is turning on it's owners.

The problem with Saudi Arabia is that it's population has far exceeded the lands ability to sustain it...

You got 35 million people living on nothing but sand...heavily dependent on imports for food stuffs.

And it's rulers are not politicians or economists...they are an old school monarchy that hasn't got a clue how to tend to the needs of 25 million people...

Their solutions is taking all the anger over the poverty and unemployment and directing it at the West...

But anyway...something needs to change over there...most of these suicide bombers in Iraq are Saudis...at the least we ought to charge them for getting rid of their unemployed.

I am all for weaning our dendence on Saudi Oil...however it is overblown...their importance to our market is not that great...their important to the world market/oil price and many of our closest allies...like Japan, is much greater.

We get more Oil from Canda...and actually I think we get more Oil from Non-Opec countries than we do Opec.

Boycotting them will not really hurt them...because they'll just sell the Oil to someone else and we'll just end up buying it from someone else...many of these sellers in the US are not equipped with the ability to meet all our Oil demands if we should suddenly boycott mid-east Oil...but it might just drop the price some.

But anyway...we need to get off Oil period, and what we do buy we need to buy from friendly progressive countries and not a bunch of despotic tyrants.

These chain emails always make me laugh. By the numbers that were posted, it's VERY apparent that not everyone can do this, or we will not have gas. The BEST thing that you can do is twofold: lighten up your foot on the pedal, and get a tuneup on a regular basis.

Neocon: you do realize that your precious Bush family has conducted a decades-long love affair with the house of Saud, don't you? Strange how you can seem to reconcile your support of the Busheviks with a hatred of the Sauds, when they would appear to be the best of friends...

We do agree on one thing, though: 9/11 was primarily a Saudi show.

W doesn't have the same strong ties with the Sauds that his Dad did...W isn't exactly kissing Saudi Arabias ass, well anymore than we have to...he's putting a lot pressure on them to reform their government and the relations with the Saudi Government are more tense than they have been in decades. The Saudis have had more government reform since 911 than they had in the previous century...mainly due to US pressure...the problem is that the issue is to big for the Saudi family to handle...just like the country is too big for the Saudi family to handle...

But if you remove them from power you get the most radical government in the World popping up in it's place...The Saudis have to move to a constitutional monarchy or parliamentary Democracy form of government...but I don't think they have the willingness or ability to pull it off any time soon...Saudi being the home of Islam and all...

And 9/11 was a Pakistani, Egypt and Saudi show...

The Pakistani Fundamentalists are far more dangerous than the Saudis are BTW...

I'm not defending the Saudi government. I'm just saying that this post/email is very inaccurate. For example it says Saudi Arabia boycotts U.S. imports. That's not true. Another example it says Conoco = 0 barrels. When in fact the Dept of Energy says that Conoco purchased 523,000 from the Middle East.

It pays to fact check when you are going to post something like this.

Fair enough :tu

Well the Saudis import nearly everything from us, I believe we are their #1 import partner...so yeah it's hard to believe they would be boycotting us...but that doesn't mean it's a bad idea to try end our reliance on them...the sooner we get off Oil the better.

Kori Ellis

Well seeing as they just agreed to the trade agreement this week with the U.S. that will allow them to enter the World Trade Organization, their dealings with our country are about to increase, not decrease. By entering the WTO, they'll also be importing from Israel -- and I think that will make them to only Arab country that does so.

U.S. currently imports $20 Billion in oil from them annually. And they import only about $5-6 Billion worth of goods from the U.S. So the trade deficit was big. But with the trade agreement, the aim is for that to be more balanced with them importing more agricultural, etc.

Kori Ellis
09-17-2005, 07:17 PM
By the way, if anyone wants the real numbers. Here's the report for January-June 2005 that includes the number of barrels by company that are imported from countries in the Persian Gulf (and what percentage that is of their total imports).

http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/company_level_imports/current/summary2005.html

NeoConIV

Yep, fair enough.

Sadly though, the email IS correct in one regard. Pennies on the dollar at the pump (no matter where you pump) fuels islamo-facsism. To their credit, the Saud government has cracked down on the 'charity' fundraisers that siphoned money off to militant radical muslim groups. They are trying to make the proceeds more transparent. But only a fool would believe that our friends the Saudi's have cut off all ties to the militants. To be sure, a small percentage of what you pay at the pump ends up in the bank account of a suicide bomber's family bank account.
