This just isn't the same NBA anymore...it's like the NFL without the Patriots or Brady\Bel. I know it's great watching this epic demise for you guys but it's just not the NBA anymore and this might be the end of the Lakers franchise for a long time with Jim Buss at helm. I still try to watch the Laker games but its frustrating and still moderately enjoy the playoffs but the sport feels like a novelty at this point.

The NBA is great. The Lakers being a trainwreck entertains the basketball community just as much as them being an unstoppable villain.
Worse thing that could happen in this case is the Lakers turning into Randy Pfund era Lakers, which will probably happen in the next few years. A mediocre, boring team that wins 35-40 games per season.

Lakers are the Kardashians of the NBA, airheads worship them but anyone w/ dignity wouldn't never give them a praise. 75% of Lakers fans are Mexicans who can't name you the Lakers starting 5 or shrimp dick Chinese who are enamored w/ brand-names & are still voting Kobe to the All-Star game.

The Lakers are a completely unnecessary team tbh. Any single team is including our Spurs and I'm fine with admitting that. ESPN is always mad when LA, NY, and CHI teams are all shitty because it means less ratings when they spam those teams for their national broadcasts. Meanwhile when fans vote for games on NBAtv they ALWAYS pick the good teams ESPN and TNT don't televise much; unless by chance it's a juggernaut match between two high end large market teams.

Wrong, and the analogy is wrong too. The NBA is fine, and to the extent that it's lacking, it has nothing to do with the Lakers. The NFL would be fine without the Patriots, too.

I have been watching the NBA since the 90's and have to say the most exciting times to be a NBA fan have been when the Lakers were irrelevant. I can be objective and say this the 3 peat Lakers were boring as fuck and the league was really awful from entertainment and talent standpoint during that time period. '08-'10 Lakers weren't fun to watch it was basically Kobe throwing up bricks on every possession and the trio of Gasol-Bynum-Odom cleaning up his garbage. The only reasons people other than casual bandwagon fans watched the lakers during those years was because they were extremely hateable and they were looking for a trainwreck. I would says Lebron James title runs were much more entertaining than watching the '00 Lakers along with any of the champions after 2010. Even though the Warriors look like they are going to win back to back the league is still a lot more entertaining right now then it was during the Laker title years of the '00s. The story lines and innovations in the game are just a lot better than they were during the '00 Laker championship years.

I must admit some of the most satisfying moments were when the Spurs took down the Lakers. That definitely meant more than any Warriors beatdown the Spurs may administer in the future. Although it is not a bad consolation prize to watch the Lakeshow hopelessly floundering. Mainly because of Kobe being such a dickwad. I use to root for the Lakers against Boston all the time.

LOL what? He created the team he's on, nigga ran off Shaq and went straight to the lottery. Then he ran off Howard and Gasol and did it again. Kobe doesn't deserve the $25 million, but everything else he's getting this season is exactly what he deserves.
