They've tried to shove this kid onto "me" for 60+ years.

They failed.

I went to a few Peanuts movies back in the day. My favorite one was the one where they are at some camp and they are having a race down the river.
Also watched all the holiday shows when they came on TV.

My kid never really got into them. Guess there was way to much competition later on with Disney and Nickelodeon stuff...and Cartoon Network.

Most peanuts shows are slow and have humor that mostly adults only get.

I remember the movie Bon Voyage Charlie Brown where Lucy yells "AND DON'T COME BACK" as he is boarding the plane and it's like, damn bitch, what did Chuck do to you to deserve that? All he ever did was fall on his ass while you pulled the football.

Really, Snoopy is the only thing keeping Charles from mass shooting the rest of the kids at school.

Why can't we just accept that the Peanuts and Looney Tunes are just done already?

It's near impossible for looney tunes to recapture that violent, sometimes racist magic in todays censored kids TV world.

Indeed. But it's not just that. Look at the Snurfs, or Garfield. Just a shit factory churning out movies that are trying to rehash franchises than don't even hold up on their own merits anymore. Stupid people selling to even stupider people.

Calm down. We all know that you and I enjoy our racosm. I have the old cartoons. I'll share them with you if you let me borrow your swastika waffle maker again. I'm having a party this weekend and want to have waffles ready for the morning.

I think the Peanuts thing was a stroke of genius. We could all..."I remember that". But, I wouldn't even pretend I was ever all that into it, but that's me, I can see why others would be.

Look, can I use your swastika waffle maker or not? It's for this weekend and if I can't borrow yours then I don't know where I can find one.

Yes.
After Michael Jackson and Cosby, can we please have Charles M. Schulz having Snoopy drink root beer. Not wine. :lol

Blake this Peanuts did a good job of relating to both tykes and adults. Kind of like a good old Pixar movie hitting the dual role of having good stuff for tykes and adults, before Pixar went whack. Nemo, etc. The 5 and under crowd would just kind of giggle at all the Peanuts pictures, Snoopy gags etc yes. However the 6-10 crowd would definitely get the message of being nice and compassionate is much better then trying to be a power tripper, trying to impress due to shallow stuff.

The end message was a good one for both tykes and adults.

bigzak do you agree?

Side point. Did Snoopy have extended scenes with his own love interests in the old Peanuts? I don't remember.
The Peanuts Movie dedicated quite a bit of time to that. I'm guestimating 20 minutes.

Fabbs you blockhead. The movie was boring. I heard kids sort of laugh maybe 3 times through the entire flick. I nearly fell asleep.

Just a 3D shadow of it's former glory with no storyline that went anywhere.

Sorry you didn't like it.
I did not think it was great, but i thought it was good enough.
Did you get the moral message/value of the movie, or does your Atheist religion allow for morals?

Did your tyke(s) like it?

Blake
11-23-2015, 09:03 AM
Nope, missed the moral message because disbelief in Jesus blocked it. Explain what you think it is and include Bible verses to support your stance.

The kids didn't hate it but didn't love it. Just meh.
