These two idiots are using isolated events from their careers. The thread is tosb Parker vs tosb rose. It's an easy call even for a Parker hater.

The career one is a bit less clear, but Parker> rose is the right call.

He would fit right in w/ the new ISO ball offense & he won an MVP playing w/ Deng/Boozer (Kawhi/LMA). Pop is always scream at his players to shoot....Fuckin' tired of Porker not attacking mismatches & being intimidated by Westbrook or shot blocker such as Ibaka/Jordan. Rose is more Manu that Porker.

Parker was in his prime when baby Rose destroyed him just like Westbrook abuses him nowadays.

This. Rose could be an elite role player/3rd option but he is still trying to get back to his MVP level, which is unfortunately not possible.

Parker on the other hand, although a "worse" (for lack of a better word) player than Rose, has accepted a smaller role.

Also, Parker's contract > Rose's contract.

I think its a trade that Chicago might want to do, but I dont see the Spurs giving it any thought really due to loyalty to Parker and his corporate knowledge that no other player could learn or ever know. If Pop had the chance to coach Rose on the Spurs, and Rose actually wanted to be coached by Pop. Game Over for the rest of the league.

I'd definitely kick the tires in two years when his contract is up.

I'm wondering if they will buy him out next season if they can't trade him just like Nets did w/ Deron Williams but refused to buyout Joe Johnson b/c they still think he has trade value. They did buyout Boozer when they couldn't trade him but that was via the amnesty clause.

Rose got his contract after he won the MVP, Porker's extension kicked in after the worst season of his career.

They're both bad contracts. Rose is owed $40 million over the next two years while TP will make $45 million over the next three. At least the Bulls can be free and clear of their cancer after only two seasons. Spurs will still be stuck with TP for an extra year.

Johnny RIngo
11-07-2015, 04:18 AM
On topic, my preference would be neither. They're both terrible players that are a poor fit for any contender in the modern NBA. At least Rose has the injury excuse on his side but he was never particularly intelligent before he blew out his knees either. And his MVP award was a sham(just like Parker's Finals MVP was a joke). As far as head to head, I remember Rose shitting on Parker nearly every time they played one another when both were in their "primes". Just a really bad matchup for TP as far I recall.

If I was forced to choose one, it'd have to be TP. Current Rose is just awful to watch and one of the mains reasons why Chicago struggles on offense.

11-07-2015, 08:52 AM
If Rose's body had not broken down, he'd be in the top 10 all time point guard discussions. He was physically imposing to guards like LeBron to 3s and Shaq to 5s. Alas, even if he is better than Parker this year (it's too early to tell with either player) Rose is too much of an injury concern to ever trust, esp at his price tag. Parker has also had nagging injuries, but that's expected at his age and he plays through them. And if people here complain about how much Parker makes, just image Rose.

IŽd take Derrick Rose any day of the week.
Shorter contract, younger, has more tools than Parker, and almost the same stats in shitty chicago offense.
Parker is playing alongside 3 players that attract more atention than him, in one of the best offenses in the league.

For me if it really is an option is a no brainer. YouŽd have a core of Rose, Leonard and Aldridge. And even if Rose is injury prone, Pop would never do a thin like playing him 40 minutes as Thibs did.

Mike Conley if anybody... A defensive distributor pg...

I remember reading an article where he has like a clock in his head about his guys and their touches, how to get his guys on fire and keep them invested and happy.

He doesn't care about scoring but will hit some shots and score if that's what's available.

Rose has been an atrocious player since the 2012 injury, tbh, but part of that is because he was drafted by his hometown..they are way too attached to him, the organization gives him way too much power on the court, they still treat him like he's a superstar..if he had been drafted elsewhere, there would have been a reality check, by now, IMO..

The Bulls essentially rely on Rose's terrible jump shot to win games:lol..when he's hot like he was vs. OKC the other night, they'll win vs. good teams, but when he isn't, which is most of the time, they won't be going anywhere..

11-09-2015, 07:56 PM
Rose makes more and is a more damaging player, since he has a far bigger ego, far less basketball IQ and is significantly younger and not far removed (in terms of the amount of games he's played since) from an MVP season. He clearly still thinks he's that caliber of player and will continue to for the immediate future.
