One thing is for sure, a similar video will never be made about the player of his generation.

Years ago, I believed this would happen(midnightpulp remembers, this was back in like 2011:lol), tbh..I thought it was obvious that the progression of advanced stats and new media would hurt the perception of his career, to an extent..

However, I never thought it would be this bad, since I didn't expect his game to deteriorate this badly:lol..I've never seen a legendary player in any sport get ridiculed this severely, people are just shitting all over him, everywhere..

If he had retired after making the 2 free throws following the tear of his Achilles, it would have been remembered fondly forever, perfect way to end his career, no harm done..it would have been the last image we would have had of Kobe, could have concluded his career as a warrior that wanted to stay on the floor, despite the injury..instead, we have a clown figure that can't shoot over 35% from the field, and is still taking 20 shots on the worst team in the NBA..smh..

:lol I remember those threads, especially how his game would stand the test of time vs. a Lebron. I agreed, but honestly I thought this would occur maybe after he retired.

ESPN and every mainstream outlet are taking huge steaming dumps on him...this was unthinkable 5 years ago. The injuries since the Achilles really zapped the game out of him...

Achilles or not, he would have aged pretty badly as player with that kind middling BB IQ and psychopathic, me-first character..Even Shaq accepted a lower place in a team hierarchy early in his Heat days ..

Whoever that PK guy is he is just taking a wet shit all over Kobe.

"I think that, given the right circumstances, some championship teams might want kobe - but it'd probably be as a guy off the bench for any contender
Take the Spurs for example
1. a strong (very strong) head coach that won't tolerate any nonsense. You'll play his way or you sit - and he's done it with his stars before. That'd be the end of Kobe going freelance whenever the F' he feels like it.
2. a structured offense that will actually get Kobe into positions where he can be successful. Whether that's successful with a shot, or successful passing or facilitating. With Kobe, in the past, he defined success as "did I get my points" most of the time. In Pop's offense, success is whether you helped the team win. If that means setting a screen for Parker, that's your job
3. could they get him for a price they would be willing to pay. Let's be honest here...on the Spurs, current Kobe (as he's currently playing) would probably be the 8th man (or worse).

So, yeah...I could see a well coached team like the Spurs wanting him (now) for the right price. would Kobe's ego accept that? Probably not.
BTW: I say "now" because I'm not sure that same scenario plays out next season

On the other hand, thinking about putting Kobe on GSW would be a recipe for disaster for them. 2 relatively inexperienced coaches and a run&gun style that would just encourage Kobe to jack up more ill advised 3's? uhm, no. Clippers, essentially the same
Cavs - maybe
Mavs - a tossup

but, the point is that if you think through all the possible contenders (and the Mavs are a stretch to consider them a contender anyway)...there's probably 2-3 teams that might want a guy that can lead their 2nd team, or possible infrequent starting minutes, IF and only IF you could keep Kobe under control

frankly, I think Pop would be the only guy that could do that and make it stick"
