We don't need rain bad enough to warrant a hurricane coming ashore.

BTW, while there is a small chance this could hit NO, I think there is a far larger chance for it to hit Texas or Mexico. There is a blocking ridge in place that will keep it moving west untill the end of the week when a trough comes through the US pulling it to the north. Unless that trough comes through far more quickly than they're anticipating, Lousiana is not in much danger.

it does not have to be a hurricane maybe a tropical storm.

The problem is that with all the warm water in the Gulf, this thing will be a hurricane, probably cat 3.

true warm water feeds it, but if it does make its way over here we'll just cross our fingers and pray it will weaken.

Hum with that track I would be more worried about South Padre and Corpus.
We will know more about this system in a couple days.
Btw that comment about People in SA..
Dude a CAT 5 hitting like at Port Aransas and tracking to us could hit us hard.
We could get a CAT 1 cain right on top of us.. and if it stalled there would be massive flooding...

I think NO is finished anyway. Galveston used to be the financial center and major port of Texas. Now it's a kitschy tourist trap with no real function. A hurricane can damage a city beyond the ability to recover.

I think NO will come back but not for a while. At least not the submerged part. There will be a city around the reconstruction money..
