Just wanted to share this article I found in SACurrent about the Austin Spurs. I might catch a few of their games, the tickets are so cheap TBH. Want to see Cady Lalane and Simmons and they seem loaded for a good season. Anyways,

Just a snippet from an interview apparently Pauga gave last season about Kyle, but really applies to Cady and Simmons too:

“The coaches in San Antonio, they’re working with Kyle on a lot of different things,” added Brian Pauga, General Manager of the Austin Spurs, and the Director of Scouting in San Antonio. “When he comes to Austin to play they’re going to talk to the coaching staff here in Austin and give him some description of how they want him to play and what they want him to work on. It’s up to them to coach him and up to Kyle to perform.”

Here is a good preview from the Austin Spurs roster:

How good can they be?

While they were great last year, they may be even more loaded this upcoming season. With Cotton, Simmons and Orlando Johnson (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/157751/orlando-johnson)returning, they'll bring back a good portion of their scoring load, but they'll also be joined by Keifer Sykes (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/258001/keifer-sykes), Cady Lalanne (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/257502/cady-lalanne), Jarell Eddie (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/251510/jarell-eddie) andDeshaun Thomas (http://www.sbnation.com/nba/players/198931/deshaun-thomas). A team with that amount of talent would be a lock for the playoffs just based on their abilities, but with McDonald at the helm this should be one of the more serious contenders for a D-League Championship.

Thanks. If you catch some games it'd be cool if you gave some game thoughts/player evaluations. :tu

I wish Richards could get bus head out of his ass and play for our D league team. It's not like he is making that much in China.

I do think the Toros will be great if they have a good coach. Probably should ship Becky up 35 and have her win a few titles. Without considering assignment status, this would be my starting lineup:

PG: Cotton
SG: Simmons
SF: Eddie
PF: Thomas
C: Tavares

Second unit would be:

PG: Sykes
SG: Johnson
SF: Washburn
PF: LaLanne
C: Ndoye

I know. Just saying a well-coached Toros would probably tear through the d-league.

They might start Lalane since they own his rights.

I hope they would, both because they want to develop him and because Lalanne probably gave up money by not even trying to get an overseas contract. Thomas just seems like a more d-league ready player, but having Lalanne next to Tarvares would definitely let him get PF minutes, which is what he needs to develop an NBA skill-set.
